Technology course

Daughters HS sends out 5 week reports and gives you some leeway in making up low grades and turning in homework to get those grades up before the next five weeks and report cards come out.

Here’s the thing-- she got her 5 week report today and had a 97 or higher in every class except for Technology ( think industrial arts not computer science). Her school makes every student take this as an elective before graduation.

She thought she was doing fine in the class and said very little was handed back graded, and she had decent grades on what was handed back. They did have a project to make some sort of car that would protect an egg in a crash but everybody’s egg broke and grades weren’t given back. The school handbook states you ate graded on effort not actual quality of work because it is an introductory required course, not for those interested in that type of thing. But it may ruin her whole gpa and I know shes putting in the effort! I saw her car and it was good! The weird thing is the report said grade: “75, working hard to succeed”. WTH does that mean! I’m not looking forward to her having a confrontation or I but I think
this grade is absurd! Any suggestions? Have contacted the school with no return call.

I must say the reason this grade bothers me so much is that we are going to need some merit based aid and she’d like to get into a top-tier and I don’t want some stupid class screwing it all up!
