teens and drinking

Why are you holding against one school what has become a national epidemic?
Please understand that the majority of high school kids drink, and unfortunately they drink to excess b/c unlike most parents who had a legal right to have a beer or two at 18, they dont, so they are doing shots in a very short space of time.
Madaket - what high school kid is going to attend a party, at which parents are present?(unless its a graduation, another right of passage, etc to which kids will either come already well lubricated or will stay for 30 min or so).
As parents we have a very difficult responsibility to discuss binge drinking and help our kids not get involved in it. However another responsibility we have is to understand that it does go on literally at every school, boarding, day, parochial, public, and not hide our heads in the sand.
In terms of students being loud, and not caring about other adults listening to their conversation - well my guess is that thats the price of “progressive” education at that particular school, and has more to do with manners.
