TeleBEARS is just like Linnaean taxonomy (both are stupid)

(Sorry for this thread, this idea has been on my mind since my junior year and since I am graduating I will likely never get to talk about it to anyone in person unless I am fortunate to return to Berkeley in the future).

Has anyone else noticed this?
-Both are extremely clunky and have stupid requirements (e.g., Linnaean taxonomy forces difference taxon ranks to have names formatted in specific ways for no reason whatsoever, TeleBEARS has the pointless system of having to memorize or refer to CCNs whenever you want to add classes)
-They both are being used for things far beyond their intended purpose (TeleBEARS started out as a phone system as an alternative to waiting in massive lines in front of Sproul, Linnaeus was a creationist and Linnaean taxonomy was never meant to study evolution)
-Both can be very aggravating

Telebears and the scheduling system are written in COBOL and nobody knows how to change it because no one programs in COBOL anymore XD. The program is supposed to be really robust so no on has bothered changing it. Personally, it doesn’t bother me too much and I haven’t had much of a problem with telebears.

OT: Do you follow phylocode development as an alternative to Linnean taxonomy?

I don’t have any allegiances to any taxonomic system, I just don’t like Linnaean taxonomy

Creationism is awesomesauce. Just ask Padian.

Bumping this thread because I can.
