Telephone Interview

I just received a request for a telephone interview. Has anyone ever done this and if you have, could you give me some examples of the questions they ask?

Read the 1000 other threads on here about the types of questions for a regular interview. A phone interview won’t be any different, as far as questions go. You just don’t have to worry about body language, what to wear, etc.

So do they give interviews to everyone, even if the college is a reach for you?

i had a phone interview about 2 mts ago- not for Columbia. I’ve also had 2 or 3 regular in person interviews and personally, I thought my phone interview went terribly. My interviewer didn’t give me any notice because he was going out of state- he called, introduced himself and asked if i was able to do the interview right there and then on the spot.

use the time that you have before the interview takes place to prepare.

but the questions were similar to the questions at a normal in person interview. so i wouldnt worry.

good luck!

Yep, even total rejects, which is a waste of time. I interviewed someone with a 1050 SAT (on the old scale) one year.

That’s really jerky of the interviewer. You should have lied and said you were on your way to church/basketball practice/music lessons/whatever, so you could do the interview later.
