Telephone interviews

I applied to yale EA as an Australian and guess wot? an alumni contacted me for a telephone interview because he lives in a different state to me. Now as if a normal interview is not nerve-wraking enough, what on earth is a telephone interview?!!! im really bad on phones:'( like, really bad!! GREAT. You think that they will have an interviewer from Melbourne, not some dodgy vineyard state!!

"I write to offer you the opportunity of being interviewed.

Although I live in Adelaide, I can interview you by telephone if you live elsewhere. I have done many telephone interviews, and they are quite acceptable to the Yale Admissions Office. I had the pleasure of interviewing a successful applicant by telephone for the class of 2009 last year, and I think it fair to say that in we both enjoyed our 45 minute ‘chat’ by telephone."

The guy does all the interviews for Aus and NZ…

Has anyone ever done a telephone interview before? i didnt know they existed!! grumble

You don’t need to do the interview. Yale won’t hold it against you if you don’t interview, although a good interview could tip the scales if you are a borderline case. Plenty of applicants decline to interview.

ha, but if you did you could be one of the few people who can actually say they conducted their yale interview in nothing but boxers lol.
