telephone interviews

My friend is asking me what schools offe telephone interviews aince he lives in a remote area in the midwest but wants to attend east coast schools. thanks

anyone?? thanks

So, your friend is going to choose which schools to apply to based on which schools do telephone interviews? lol

He should just research the schools he’s interested in. Most of the college websites will have information regarding interviews- if they encourage them, require them, etc. Many of the well-known east coast schools will have alumnae who live in his general area and they may be able to meet with him. In any case, he can contact the schools directly and ask how he might schedule an interview. It would be ideal if he could manage to visit a few of the colleges, but that’s not always practical or affordable.

For East Coast schools, his being in a remote area of the Midwest might be a plus because many such schools want more rural and midwestern students. Attending a high school that has never sent a student to a particular college may also be a plus.

I don’t think interviews are essential for any of those colleges. If there’s not an alum interviewer within a reasonable distance from an applicant, it doesn’t count against the applicant.
