So, I’m running around like a crazy person, making phone calls from like three different phones and sending email, trying to finish everything before it becomes impossible to do any more business. Plus trying to get it all together so that I can leave for home tomorrow, six hour drive with cat.

Sometimes when I’m in a hurry I’ll talk on two telephones, two conversations at the same time, or I’ll dial one, while that call is ending be dialing the next call so I don’t lose time. Unfortunately sometimes my mouth goes on “autoresponse”.

So I called a friend, then Paris, then Sears auto. Went like this:

Me: “Can you do an oil change, check my tires, check out everything, I need to drive six hours tomorrow and want to make sure I’m good”.

Sears Guy: “Sure we can”.

Me: “O.K., how long is the wait?”

Sears Guy: “It depends on how busy we are.”

Me: “O.K. what’s the best time to come?”

Sears Guy: “Early in the morning is good, it’s pretty quick?”

Me: “Can’t do that, conference calls early. How does today look?”

Sears Guy: “It’s not too bad, but it is about a two hour wait.”

Me: “No problem, I’ll drop off my car, then, I’ll walk across the street and get some shopping done.” (I begin dialing my next number on my other phone at this point.)

Sears Guy: “Sure, if you can do that, that’ll work.”

Me: “Just in case, how late are you open?” (I’m dialing my next call, the phone is ringing in my other ear…)

Sears Guy: “8:00 tonight.”

Me: “O.K. perfect. I’ll see you then.” (Main menu is coming on in my other ear…)

Sears Guy: “O.K. just ask for Mike, when you get to the counter…”

Me: “O.K. I love you. Have a wonderful afternoon, and don’t forget to eat.”
