Television Show Ideas

A bit off-topic, but related to your post regarding free stuff.

Decades ago, the Atlanta Falcons professional football team was having a poor season. A season ticket holder parked his car in a busy area near the stadium on game day. Placed his two tickets under the wipers. Came back after breakfast & found six tickets under his wipers.

I guess the message is: If leaving stuff curbside, do not share your address as you might get more than expected. And, this is not an exaggeration as I have witnessed others placing their unwanted items next to others’ curbside discards.

I don’t even have to leave the neighborhoods we live in. We’re usually one of the few families who own a truck; most people just don’t have a way of transporting items to charities, and since we usually live a bit further out, charities won’t pick up one or two items. Most of the neighborhoods we move to are a bit more upscale relo neighborhoods, so people put out some really nice stuff when their relo stints are finished.

My trash to treasure project from this past weekend. They were off white and stained from age; they just needed a good wire brushing and a couple cans of navy spraypaint.

Wicker is often found at curbside! People give up on it too quickly!

The name of my show would be:

ANCESTRAL HOMES

I think it would be a really good idea is for one of America’s gazzillionaires, to band together with another gazzillionaire and restore one of America’s ā€˜lost’ and abandoned towns or cities.
The homes in said recovered town could be brought to levels of comfort that former residents, who are now old, probably impoverished, and/or disabled, could live out their days in their restored former home (if still existing), without worry ie no rent / mortgage or other bills. When that resident dies off, the home is passed to the next eldest for his/her retirement days and so on.

I passed through Gary, Indiana last weekend - wow!!! I thought of all the people who raised their families there, and wondered ā€˜where are they now?’ That level of poverty screams for help!

Erin Napier and her husband (HomeTown show couple) apparently did something a LITTLE similar recently though I haven’t watched any of the episodes - HomeTown Takeover it’s called I think? They went to small towns and gave the town a mini makeover - things like certain storefronts, town square, outside of some homes on the edge of town, etc.

Good concept! Gary is big of course, but so many dying little towns/villages out there…
