Anyone watching? I know there were some speeches earlier today that I need to look up and watch. But I put this on. It is hard for me to watch. Emotional. But I"m making myself watch it and sometimes smile and sometimes tear up.
The Platt Brothers (Ben and 2 others) just sang and it was beautiful.

Definitely geared towards those who are graduating in terms of some of the artists but still touching.
I am watching, just to see President Obama. Our neighbors son is graduating this year, and I helped take some photos of their family yesterday. I know the special is for HS seniors, but I thought of all the UVA fourth years who should have walked the Lawn today and thought of the pride I felt watching D make that walk, hoping those students and their parents would have that opportunity. I feel for all of them.

Our local HS dropped off 2 signs for all the graduating seniors, from the class and with their name. I think I’d like to make a sign for my son, who spent ,more years than anyone to get his PhD from MIT. I don’t think my neighbors will care, but I’ll take a picture to send to my son.

Well said @sabaray. It was kind of you to assist your neighbors. They will look at those photos over the years and remember that their nice neighbor helped take them.
Watched it mostly because I wanted to hear Barack!! He didn’t disappoint.
My understanding is there is another graduation special airing in June 6 that features Barack and Michelle Obama as speakers as well as Lady Gaga. There are others, and entertainers like Alesia Keyes. It’s geared towards all graduates…including colleges and professional schools. I’m looking forward to that one too.
Iheart is also airing commencement addresses and they are amazing as as well.
ETA…I also liked LeBron last night. A great example of a very successful athlete who gives back to his community.

I liked it. Good for LeBron. He built a school in Arkon and Executive Produced this special. Great way of giving back. Liked Obama’s speech and the excuse to tune in.
I watched it, expecting to fast forward through it…but didn’t. I think it was extremely well done. It was moving and sweet. I’m glad I recorded it.
Very good. I really also liked the special on CNN that came on right before it(Class of 2020: In this Together), especially Gal Gadot’s speech.
