Televisions....

What’s the best size/type of tv that fits in the dorms? I’m in houston if that makes a difference

Well, how do you intend to use it (how often, for what etc.)?

just regular use i guess…movies and stuff on occasion

i was mainly wondering what size to get…they come in anywhere at 10 inches to 25 inches and i have no idea what fits!

get a relatively small one: space is a key factor in dorms (though Tufts’s are relatively large compared to those ar other schools ive visited) plus there’s the matter of lugging it upstairs when you move in and downstairs when yu move out.

so how many inches is that…like 13-15 inches?

My boyfriend has this one: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_3/601-3680060-0714561?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000EWJ9A6

It has proved perfect, in that it’s pretty small and it fit on one of those plastic bubble crates (turned sideways and with his PlayStation in the space), but you can still see what’s going on on the screen. I know people who had bigger ones though, they just put them on top of their bureau.

well it sounds like you won’t be using it for anything “heavy duty” so i would recommend a smaller tv. 15in sounds fine. then again, if you are planning on movie nights, you might want to even try a 20in. the only risk of getting a bigger tv, as wrath mentioned, is lugging it up and down the stairs. but yea 15-20 i would say…

in reality - how many times are you going to be lugging it up and down the stairs? 2. i wouldn’t make that a deciding factor if i were you. if you’re investing in a TV maybe you want to get one with a built in DVD player - one of the girls on my hall had one like that and we had movie nights in there allll the time.

Yeah, the link I gave above has a built-in DVD.
