Tell Me About Your (Women's) Hairstyle

I’ve been lying down surfing after taking a shower. My hair air dried like this, which is not common. It’s usually much more puffy and wild. And it’s gray, not blond.

Plain ol’ lob/bob, which I’ve had for 30+ years. Length has varied some over time, but it must be at least long enough to have a nub of a ponytail for running. I probably quit coloring my hair 20 years ago. My hair is fine, but I definitely had more hair when I was younger. I’m a person who would love to have long hair, but it is just too fine and thus starts looking stringy as it gets longer. This became very obvious during Covid. I’m very jealous of those of you with thick hair.

And, yes, that’s a crown on my head :crown:

Same here. This is the longest my hair has ever been (Covid), and it was not flattering. My “ponytail” was about as thick as a pencil.

I trimmed it up a bit, still not great (blown out, looks much thicker than it is):

Post Covid, but still longer than I like it:

This is the length/style I have now and forever:

And why not?

I have very thick, very curly dark hair very dark brown. It is short. Like, SHORT. (I find some people call chin length hair “short”). It never sees a dryer or a comb or brush. Wash, crimp the curls with my fingers, add a little curl gel. Done.

I think my hair is one of my favorite features. It’s my “sporty” look.

I like the back really short at the neck. No bangs but some shorter pieces to the side. I just self color my temple area.

Get it cut (don’t let her dry it!) every 6-7 weeks , $55 + tip.

SOOOoooooo envious. This is the hair I’ll have in heaven.

Any chance of a pic?

It looks like you have much more hair than I do! I can relate to the ponytail as thick as a pencil concept.

I love your style. I had one hairdresser who asked if I’d ever considered shorter hair but said, “Oh, never mind,” when he saw how big my ears are!:rofl::rofl:

I really don’t. I’m a wizard with a blow dryer.

Do you use any particular products to make it appear thicker?

I shampoo once (John Frieda Ultra Filler+ for Fine Hair) and rinse, no conditioner. A ping-pong ball of mousse in the crown area worked through towel-damp hair and blown dry back to front with a very large round brush. Once dry, spritz top/back with shaping spray and use a pick to pull up/out (mostly crown) and shape. Finish with a spritz of freezing spray. Every.single.day. Very un-@abasket. :frowning:

This is my short hair long- just before a haircut (it’s a headshot)

I’ve always worn mine below my shoulder, but about 8 years ago went from straight bangs to sideswept. Grew it longer during Covid and kept it.

I color my hair it’s natural dark brown, but have been lightening it lately by just doing the roots. My roots are white white.

I lost about 40% of my hair 10 years ago and most grew back. I thought I was going bald.

I like my hair with height, but it’s a struggle, I have to really tease the roots. When I want to dress up and know it won’t go flat, I put it in a half up half down with combs.

I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. Most days it’s just on top of my head.

My curly often frizzy hair ends at the neck. I have never been to a hairdresser and cut my hair with scissors in the shower. I just pull it all back and snip across. If it were straight this would not work at all.

I am sensitive to products and have one shampoo and conditioner brand I tolerate. I have never colored and of course gray is increasingly taking over with some white at the front. I do comb through in the shower and afterward but otherwise my hair has a life of its own. If too wild I use hair clips on the side to look like a sane person.

I used to cut my cockapoo dog’s curly hair and then mine, on the same schedule. Looking in the mirror I would have an odd feeling that I looked like my dog!

In my mind!

I will say that I’m a firm believer if you don’t carry yourself like a queen, no one will treat you like one.

I am also prone to waving my hand at annoying drivers on the road and saying”Out of my way,
peasants!”

All in good fun and silliness with my self declaration of the title. I promise I’m not stuffy/snobby/condescending/demanding. I’m actually pretty low maintenance.

Your hair reminds me of my sister’s. She’s let her go completely white and gets compliments all the time. She’s 72.

My have is always about 4 inches below my shoulders with bangs and long layers. I have my hairdresser put in some honey highlights to break up the blond/white. My hair is medium to thick and is naturally very soft. I like to have it long enough to put in a ponytail.

I like it!

I cut my own hair. It looks alot like Mika Brzezinski (who also usually cuts her own hair). Used to have a French bob with bangs but my hair is getting thinner. Always straight. I wash it daily and air dry.
Also lighten a few strips of my natural medium brown hair color to blend with the grey hair which is about 50%.
