I FEEL dead, cira. Pre-cal is sucking my mind of all thought but rotated axes of the graphs of conics.

http://centripetalnotion.com/2007/09/13/13:26:26/ They’re like beautiful corpses… Art made out of books.

I am honestly very tired tonight, so I will retire presently, after the due completion of my homework, and leave you all to your peace until next we meet! Hopefully tomorrow we’ll get a lovely discussion roaring. Adieu!

tomorrow?! aw man, i can’t get on until like 11:00 your time tomorrow. beep don, you’ve gotta love conics, (and ellipses with their double foci too when you get to them:)) i’ve probably forgotten everything i have ever known about conics by now

Aw, I love conics!
And trig! Trig was amazing.
Everything else kind of sucked about pre-calc.

Ugh
Trig.
I should probably relearn my trig stuff…

I’m taking mechanical physics right now and for some reason, that class is impossible.

I could study all night, and not know a thing about solving the problems.

I despise conics. It felt like such a pointless unit. Actually, I just hate math in general. It feels so pointless. Because there is such an exact way to do it, and there is an EXACT answer, it feels like there is not point to my doing anything at all. Someone better than me at math would do the EXACT same thing; A computer told to do the same problem would do the EXACT same thing. It’s practically de-humanizing! In the humanities, you start getting multiple interpretations, so that what everyone does actually matters for advancing and exploring the subject.

Sorry about the rant, I just don’t like math.

Science is okay, though.

Conics… was the most worthless thing… ever.

Gaaaah.

To old TASPers: when do interview notifications come out? I know they say mid-March but what is it really? Thanks!

I checked last year’s thread and people were calling in right around March 2nd.

Holy crap that is less than a month away.

So my field trip today was pretty amazing. I saw Dr. Michio Kaku talk about physics and string theory and alternate universes… So wonderful. He’s a great speaker and the topic of course was phenomenal. He made an atom-smasher in his garage when he was a teenager! I want to do that!

“He made an atom-smasher in his garage when he was a teenager!”

It’s people like that that make me feel like I’m wasting my brain.

Oh, I know! I told my mom that I wanted to make one too. She was expectedly much less enthused about it than I was.

hello? anyone?

You rang?

Hey MLS! How is your day going?

I think I have TASP thread ESP. I was downstairs and randomly felt like coming up and checking the thread. :)

yay. its been a long time, im totally stressed, i hate calculus i want it to be choked under the area of a curve. im 40 pages behind in apa and i want to get into tasp. :(

how is everyone.

Excited. Did you know interview notifications are less than a month away?

I feel your pain as a fellow student struggling. Damn you, Archimedes!

Aww, poor Panic.

I had a lovely day. I think I might understand the Molecular Orbital model a little bit. Hopefully. Nice field trip, boring afternoon, unnatural cravings for steak and chicken wings, but nothing new, really.

Heh, Pre-calc at my school is kind of a joke. It’s easier than the math we took last year. New York is screwed up like that. But I think it’s also because it’s technically a senior course, only most of the people in it are advanced Juniors, so it’s nice to get a reprieve from the rest of the work.

yeah i read something in the thread talking about early march. i want to puke. im so messed around id probably make a horrible interview.
im gonna build a time machine and stab him.

But before you do, remember to kick his pebbles. (:
