Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

yeah and stop bringing up porn.
men are sooo preverted.

Elmo is a genius.

Schutzstaffel…a wikipedia search has yielded something a little creepy…

My last name bears a striking resemblance to one of the notable commander’s last names. They’re not exact, but they’re close… (difference in one vowal)

Oh, well. SS is good!

And the porn is a song from the musical. It’s funny, because the gender roles you just mentioned are featured in the song itself… (ie: It’s a duet: There’s a big creepy puppet obsessed with Internet porn singing as a girl sings about Internet’s intellectual uses)

And with the knighting of Sir SS, I must depart.
I guess I’ll see you guys tomorrow.
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night…

panic - so true. If it’s girls and clothes, it’s men and porn/sex.

i hope it is not your destiny ss

i should go too. my eyes are burning.

You can work for my regime, SS.

I too am going to bed. Good night! See (write to? discuss with?) you guys tomorrow!

I would make a terrible military commander. I’m obsessed with musicals and singing and have never fired a gun (or considered war tactics at all, for that matter). I’m terrible at Risk.

I end with a musical quote:

“It’s springtime for Hitler and Germany! And Winter for Poland and France!”

eww… porn, disgusting gag

only reason i mentioned it as a possible nickname

p.s. not all guys are obsessed with porn as girls are with clothes. porn is disgusting, vile, and deserves to be shoved back brutally into the pandoras box where it came from

audieu, all! see ya tomorrow.

nobody here? sigh…

Afternoon all! Here are my belated responses to last night’s conversation:
Ooh, cheesecake is wonderful. I, too, used to hate it, along with ravioli and pineapple (I’ve never come up with a satisfying reason why for any of those).

Wink: Tell your parents that they don’t need to buy a bread maker, you can very easily make it without one. Kneading isn’t hard, and it really doesn’t take much actual work to make bread. It’s a great de-stressor actually.

My school runs from 7:45 to 2:15 and we have a nine period day. There’s about 1600-1700 kids total, so it’s kind of big for the hick area I’m in, it’s not actually huge. I hate walking into a class and not knowing anyone in it. For most classes, I’m with the same 40 Honors students again and again, but for sciences, they don’t do regular advanced classes, you just take the next science up, and for my SUNY (Courses with crazy amounts of credit hours offered through the local community college) Chem class, all the seniors in there know each other very well and the two Juniors had never met before in their lives.

I try not to ‘brand’ my wardrobe. Most of my friends do, and I do buy jeans usually based on the brand, but that’s only because they fit really nicely. I like sweaters a lot… I don’t wear a lot of t-shirts and I don’t like sneakers terribly well, but when I do wear them, it’s the purple lowtops just like Doctor Who has! I guess I try to dress classy. Ugh, that sentence feels so wrong, but Firefox says “classily” is not a word. I say all you Floridians have it lucky- you have one wardrobe all year long. We Northernors have to have about six.

I’ve had two snow days already, and that I think is because we have a new superintendent and she’s more of a wuss than the old guy. There should have been another one yesterday. It was three degrees in the morning and it very rarely gets quite that cold around here.

For the senior pranks, everyone always talks about getting three pigs, labeling them 1, 2 and 4 and setting them loose in the school. If someone could do it, it would be awesome. I just don’t know where exactly they’re going to get the pigs.

I have a few songs from Avenue Q and I love them “I’m not wearing underwear todaaaaaayy!” “Get a job!”

Ah! I’m so excited! Louise Erdrich (author of Love Medicine, one of the books we have to read for IB English HL) is coming to have a speech at the Minneapolis Central Library tonight!

And I’m going! Yippee!! So excited!

So yeah, have a good debate or two tonight. That’s why I’ll be gone!

Au revoir!

Howdy, all. I’m I all alone?

Not quite, Donny.

Awesome, somebody else! What’s up?

Not much, rather dull day. How is your life?

I’m obsessing over my SAT score I get back this thurs. Seriously, it’s gnawing at my mind. I want to score at least 100 points higher than last time(1240 outta 1600). My friend was able to pull something like this off. She said the first time she took it, she was nervous, so the second time around, she knew what to expect.
But at this very moment, I’m eating a Southbeach diet lunchable, listening to the Flaming Lips, and constantly refreshing this page to see if anybody has replied. (:

Just remember that your worth as a person can be measured by the SAT about as well as you can guess how much a star weighs by squinting at it real hard.

Yes, the constant refreshing. I get a little neurotic about it sometimes… Hehe

Well, I appreciate your words, and I know them to be true, but I’m not sure if my schools of choice would agree. (:
It’s too bad emotion/excitement can’t be measured by schools as part of their application. How awesome would it be if you could get into a school like Cornell or Columbia because of how much you genuinely want it?

It could be like a gameshow-What Would You Do to Get Into _____? It would be interesting, degrading and very indicative of the ridiculous amount of hype there is over college admissions today. Especially if someone died mud-wrestling a baby grizzly bear for admission and a full-tuition scholarship to Harvard.

baby grizzly bear. Cute (:

Every game show needs grizzly bears every once in a while.
