Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

i know right!, i actually argued with im saying “no, it cant be that good!” and he was all like “would you like me to tell you it is trash and that you shouldnt even bother” and i was like…maybe.
what weary guy?
and lol fridge, your cold heart will just have to numb your bottom.

Touch

the increased number of disgruntled students shooting it up in colleges is concerning for me.

Roland Weary is a character in Slaughter-house five. Like I said, I’m only sixty pages in, so he might not be all that important.
Catch-twentytwo, i guess. There’s no pleasing a person looking for criticism. He or she wants to be told what they have done wrong but at the same time, they want to be told that they did nothing wrong.

“the increased number of disgruntled students shooting it up in colleges is concerning for me.”
What do you mean?

indeed. but then again he told me the same thing last time and it worked out. he also told me beware of CC. but you cant bet it all the time right.
and darn im really bad with names, it took me like two weeks to learn all the tassers names. i’m lucky to remember the names of book characters. hehe.

Ha, my brother read some of my essays a few days after deadline. He basically told me they were all crap. You must have more sensitive siblings.

Book characters? I forget entire books. Seriously, if my interviewer, like i’ll get one, asks me about my books in detail, I’m going to be screwed.

“Beware of CC.” That should pop up on all first time visitors’ screens. (:

Well, at least we now know the familial environment from which the future despot of Asia was given birth.

like that shooting in Illinois, and the one at v tech before it, and there was another one wasn’t there. like maybe it is just the way these things go, but they seemed to have all popped up recently. or maybe im highly sheltered.

yeah i was bummed out about how everyone seemd to be this mega genius, and he was like stop it. those kids are probably socially deficient. i just laughed

and fridge i think id prefer honestly over sugar coating. or maybe he was honest and i’m just that screwed up…

Shootings, hmmm. I’m pretty sure that all people tuned into reality would agree, it’s horrible that these events occur. What I hate is what follows them, i.e. the three-week media field day, talks of this generation being worse than the generation currently in power, and the restriction of student freedoms in order to “prevent” another occurrence.

no that wont solve anything. i just wish that these sick bastards would shoot themselves before they went on a rampage. messed up but it solves the damn problem. and its not necessarily a security issue cuz then they would have to become a prison. but like it instills a slightly useless fear in me.

hola, everyone, optimistic are we today?

There were several campus shootings this past week alone.

But why so much focus on the shooter? The media tries to “analyze” them, as if it really knows that was going on in their heads at the time. It’s some kind of well-marketed “mystery” to unravel, used to attract viewers/readers. I still see articles every now and then about some new “insight” gained into the minds of the Columbine shooters.

Speaking of crazy people, what makes a person crazy? What is sanity? At what point do we take away a person’s freedom “for their own good/safety,” which, by the way, most always means everyone else’s good/safety.

Most “crazy” people are perfectly harmless; they just think/function differently.

I suppose deviant and maladaptive behavior would qualify someone to have a mental disorder. You could say that to an extent, “insanity” can be a sign of genius, in that the insane tend to think more creatively and innovatively…it’s just a matter of how they apply those cognitive differences.

There is actually a really good article by a guy named Thomas Szasz (more of a manifesto, actually) that makes some interesting arguments against society’s definition of “insanity” and government interference in the lives of those deemed psychologically handicapped.

and that is why more come out. they want some attention. blah blah blah.
there is crazy and there is walking in a building and deciding to hurt others.

no matter what measures are taken you cant make everyone happy And safe. or simply safe for that matter. i can live with that it is just distressing you know.

and our current administration is attempting the removing freedoms in exchange for safety. that’s not working to well is it?

Although I do find it kind of funny that so many social conservatives are willing to fight against free speech/assembly in the same of “national security”…but God forbid they take our guns!

fridge, you got to the heart of my question. I was really saying that “craziness” doesn’t exist, then again, I’m no neurologist, so I could be absolutely wrong.

mls, one of the founding fathers, forget which one, said, “A man that trades freedom for security deserves neither.”

funny country huh.

and here here to that guy. the government is listening to the wrong end of the founding fathers. they will keep a out of it’s prime law endlessly but they never listen to the real message.

So what was the last book everybody read? Mine was Puddin’head Wilson by Mark Twain.

im ashamed to say it was one flew over the cuckoo’s nest i have Not been able to do any leisure reading since 11 grade started. it is what i sacrifice and it ****es me off that i cant seem to make the time. i havent even written in my composition in months.
