lol take some summer courses. and i have that same situation going on too. like it is literally TASP or bust.

Is it just me, or have you hoped that Telluride reads this thread? (:
I know it sounds silly, but I have this fantasy of the Telluride people picking and choosing candidates based on our past posts that show how much we want to go because we actually want to and not because we just want to write something on our college apps.

though that would be ideal it would totally not get them donations. i actually have the fear that they Do read this, think im a complete idiot and bring copies of various discussions and highlight exactly what statements are too inflammatory and make me a horrible representative for tasp.

Hudson, I would adore working at a nut stand in the mall. Not nearly as much as TASP. But I think I could make the best out of having a summer job instead of doing a summer program. Although everyone knows that the best summers are the ones that you completely waste by hanging out w/ your friends and playing guitar hero till all hours of the night. =] This is why not getting into TASP will disappoint me (A LOT) but I’ll get over it because there are literally sooooo many other options.

Hello everyone, I applied to TASP.
I think, Hudson, that the “fantasy” you described might actually be one of the problems that I see in this thread… I feel like some people are posting things that attempt to “prove” themselves as worthy of being accepted into TASP. I am sure that all of you are GREAT candidates, but amidst the doublespeak and ‘discussions’ and all, I think you guys should calm down a bit and just wait for the decisions. I doubt that Telluride reads this thread closely just so that they can match up posts to essays, and doubt even more that their decisions will be affected by what the see on this thread. Flaunting academic and/or intellectual prowess; trying to sound “intellectual” and whatever here won’t help you in admissions, and a “stupid” statement or two here probably will not hurt you, either. Chill, and good luck everyone!

Methionine, I don’t believe you have anything to worry about. :)

I think Hudson was just kidding…I doubt any of us here actually expect TASP reviewers to even glance at this thread, and even if they did, there’s a good chance they wouldn’t know who the hell some of us are. It’s /just/ a fantasy, a random musing; this thread speaks to how devoted and serious some of us are about TASP, as opposed to the legions of students applying simply to put TASP on their college apps. We’re not trying to sound cocky and intellectual (as you can see, there is a lot of non-intellectual discussion as well). We’re just trying to get to know each other and pass some time until the decisions come out; none of my school friends applied, and it’s nice to have a group of people to talk about this stuff with. We’re all a little bit nervous, but no one, as far as I can tell, is staking his/her life on acceptance to TASP. If you look back at the previous posts (after the deadline), you’d probably see that we actually don’t spend much time talking about TASP itself at all.

And good luck to you too!

anyone still here?
