sorry, was busy earlier; anyone still hear?

Only me, I believe. So, what was your last book?

I’m out. Night, non-existent people. (:

^^reading 1984 right now

1984’s good, but seeing as someone I love very much who hasn’t spoken to me in a year and a half gave it to me, it’s unfortunately tainted for me. Orwell’s got a great point, but the book dragged on for a bit longer than it should have (he’s got the same problem as Stephen King: great ideas, but he sometimes muddies them with too many odd little scenes that really aren’t necessary).

New topic for TASPers: What was the strangest thing you wrote in your TASP application? I’ve just reread my essays, and I believe that I will be the only applicant to use the phrase “kung-fu claw” on my application. Probably.

1 1/2 years? yikes! my record is like a month and i hold grudges pretty damn well… my sympathy…

weird words i used - scintillating, probably a lot of others i just don’t remember… not that i want to ;)

I think we all used vocabulary that we’d never use speaking. It’s so much easier to be articulate when you’re writing or typing than when you’re talking. I doubt that any of us can speak on-the-fly like we can type on this thread.

it also helps that we have no idea who the other person is, and probably don’t care either.
jkjk, i’m sure we’re all one big, happy, extremely argumentative family

hey,
it’s actually my first tiem in this site… i was just surfing through the internet when i came across this site. ![]()
seemed like i found my fellow wannabe tasp-ers in this site.

actually i live in thailand and am korean. so technically i applied for tasp as an international student. i go to an international school, which can be quite interesting at time… it’s been almost a month since i clicked ‘submit’ and it might sound crazy, but i hav been checking my mail every day. soo when is the interview decision being announced?

Weirdest essay phrase? I think “cultural Fortunados” takes it. Think Poe. :P

Mist: Oh, poor Mist. You’ve yet to have your soul ripped out of your chest by CC? Sweet thing, she probably still retains a scrap of pride about her achievements and a sense of self-worth; those will have to go. There’ll be none of that at College Discussion. Anyway, the interviews won’t be announced until mid-March, and I think they call you.

Classik: What does Fortunados mean? Yahoo doesn’t know, so I’m stumped unless you meant Fortunato from the Cask of Amontillado.

Yeah… jeez, the typo stings a month late.

I mentioned Spider-man in one of my essays.

I totally agree, Wolfbane2, I’m much more articulate in my writings than in reality. Writing allows you the opportunity to think critically and to structure your argument, which is something that I can’t do as well in a fast-paced back and forth conversation.

Anyway, I’ve got work again, so I won’t be here for a while. Bye bye

mist : a word of advice - avoid the “what are my chances” forum. you will feel utterly worthless

omg this thread has been regenerated, while i was away.don’t tell wink but i was taking over Asia.lol.

and i think the harshest thing i said might have been calling America a “cloning machine”

and wow that porno convo got heavy, elmo you got your dignity handed to you.

no need it rub it in mls, that’s kinda what happens when ur outnumbered 4 to 1

lol. i guess. i wouldnt really know.
so how are you?

not bad. you? got any plans? other than taking over asia… that’s wink territory there. better off goin’ for europe or south america

lol maybe im running a coup on wink.but mostly im still sick and not doing homework.

hmm… lots of people are getting sick these days. beware, fridge controls ingsoc and will prey on your weakness of illness.

lol. i have a few tricks of my own.
i think it is a conspiracy to keep people down, make em sick all the time.
