I’m still here…kind of.

how can you “kind of” be here? do you like have your internet cable partly cut in half?

No. I’m just writing a paper for class at the same time, so my attention is split between two tasks.

yeah i know that feeling all too well…

Howdy, my fellow TASPlicants. Wow, you guys burned some pages up. (:
It’s a shame I had to work, I could have been the staunch pro-porn/pro-prostitution person.
Both are the skeezy businesses that they are because people think they’re degrading and carnal, but once people realize that sex is a very real part of life and nothing to be ashamed of, the porn/prostitute businesses would change to reflect this shift in the cultural paradigm.

It’s so quiet. Where did all of those chatterboxes go?
So, D-Yu…wazzup dawg? (<– why does that sound so weird when I picture myself saying it?)
Read any good books lately? Seen any good movies? “Discover” a new musical artist?

Last movie I saw was Slaughterhouse-Five. I know I’m reading it too, but I was looking at the wikipedia article of the book, and it mentioned that there was a movie was made in the seventies, so I went to youtube to see how they could make a movie out of such a crazy movie. I told myself I wouldn’t watch it all, but it was so good, and I have no willpower. (:

Hudson, where were you like 2 hrs ago? i was outnumbered like 4 to 1 and got my a$$ worked.

The last movie I saw was “The Mission”–it was pretty good (better than I thought it would be) but it didn’t blow me away or anything.

Hmm…I can only imagine what a movie adaption of “The Sound and the Fury” or “Ulysses” would look like…/that/ would be interesting.

D-Yu – your main attackers were Wolf and Earil. The rest of us just kind of stood by and snickered. I doubt Hudson would have helped your case much :)

Work, my dear elmo. Got to make that college app look good.

“Ulysses”…it’s by James Joyce, if I remember. It’s a modern Odyssey, right?

Kind of, yes. It’s one day in the life of one guy who encounters situations similar to those of Odysseus, but more modern (for example, the sirens are prostitutes and barmaids). The underlying idea is that each of us undergoes a personal “odyssey” on a daily basis. But the book is pretty crazy–I’ve only read part of it, but the format is stream-of-consciousness and packed with puns and weird allusions. I can’t imagine it making any sense as a film.

EDIT: A wikipedia search has revealed that there was actually an award-winning film version made several decades ago. I’ll have to look into that later…

I felt the same with Slaughterhouse-Five, but it captured the essence of the novel perfectly. Even Vonnegut said the film was perfect. It’s still on youtube if anybody feels like watching a cool film.

we agreed on the main point - porno is bad, but has the right of expression. i was a tad more emphatic on my disgust with porno. they got all riled up cuz they thought i was attacking women’s rights or sumthin’ then then turned into a slug fest. and wink and others just stood by and snickered

agghhh… girls. makes an exasperated face only some of em tho’ wink. cool down.

Gack! Boys… ;)

Pornography doesn’t degrade women in my opinion.

I’ve got a question. If the draft reappeared, would you fight for your right of free choice?

of course. porno’s another can of worms tho’. a rusting can full of vile bloodsucking, venomous worms, mind you ;)

Where is everybody?

I think there’s a lot of illness going around…
I wonder where panic is?

Maybe she took over Asia in your stead.

!!!
Oh dear. She’s in trouble now…
