Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

Heh, I came home and napped. I think I dreamed about candy bars and pancakes… Mmm…

wow that is interesting cira. though i imagine waking up in a world that wasnt all candy might have been unsatisfactory.

It was disappointing… I had thoughts of melting a Milky Way over a stack of crispy pancakes… I don’t know why, but crispy sounds much better than regular soggy pancakes.

ok that is extreme.

Yeah, I have unusual food tastes.

well normal varies also.

Pancakes are delicious. Nate the Great brainwashed me. (:

who is that. and i havent had pancakes in like two years.

He was a children’s book detective/pancake enthusiast.
Google search yields a better picture.

Heh, Nate the Great. I loved the illustrations.

I’ve always been more of a waffle lady myself, although I can make a mean pancake. Waffles are just so… ergonomic. They have syrup holes! Pancakes just can’t compete with them.

I’d rather not have my food crunch in the morning, i.e. waffles.
Pancakes are so smooth and melt in your mouth.

Are we seriously having a pancakes/waffle debate? (:

I’d also rather not have my food fall apart on my plate because it’s so wimpy! Waffles offer a little more substance and structure, things I definitely appreciate when I’m just waking up.

To answer your real question, yes, Donny, we are that awesome.

Pros of pancakes:

 1. It has “cake” right in the name; you can’t beat that.
 2. Easier to make than waffles.
 3. Easier to spread butter on than waffles(all those holes get filled unevenly).
 4. They’re pure American. I’m not eating nothing from Belgium!
 5. Nate the Great likes them. 'Nuff said.

ok i like a good pancake. cuz i always want to wallop someone with a waffle. pancakes forever because when i put syrup in the waffle it always ends up dripping on me which is /so/ uncool.

Pros of the Waffle:
-Think of waffle knits. Ever met a waffle knit not worthy of your love? I’m going to go ahead and say no.
-The butter-trapping holes make you think about your buttering actions and probably use less. I don’t butter at all, I use syrup exclusively. In the midst of the obesity epidemic, even small changes like these could help in the long term.
-Pancakes are totally Communist. Ever heard of Bessarabian pancakes? Ever known a Commie Eastern European who didn’t love his pancakes? Sure, Belgium may not be the US, but at least it’s not a borscht-fest!
-Because they require a little more work to make, they provide more employment for American workers.
-Just think of the convenient syrup holes, my friend! I mean, honestly!
-Much easier and more convenient to reheat.
-You are probably a Communist along with your beloved pancakes, so we probably shouldn’t listen to you or the HUAC will blackball us. Panic, to the bomb shelter! Never mind, you’re one of them too. I dibs Wink and Elmo!

huac doesnt control the underground. and belguim is all about money, capitalist take your waffles and walk. and i bet they were off eating your hearty waffles.

On your points:
-Only boring grandmas knit. Are you a waffle-loving bore?
-Pancakes trust your competence to ration your own butter. It doesn’t hold any punches.
-I’d rather be a commie than a Nazi, you Belgian waffle-lover.
-Ever heard of a couple of little places called IHOP and Denny’s? These pancake manufacturers provide a lot more work to Americans.
-Syrup pouring is an art form; waffle compartments hinders creative thought.
-Longer time reheating=more anticipation for food=more appreciative of food.
-I would gladly forfeit my spot in the bomb shelter for a nice homemade pancake.

and hey im already the socialist here right. who needs the bomb shelter?
and omg ihop.

-At seven in the morning? Who can be trusted with saturated fats at seven in the morning.
-It’s not Belgium’s fault that it’s a small, peaceloving country that got invaded by the pancake loving Nazis.
-…Probably because they also sell, what’s that, waffles?

And I suppose it’s art when it’s all over the rest of your plate because there’s no way to keep it on top of your delicious breakfast carb-fest?
-Not true. I mean honestly, the only way to reheat pancakes is in the microwave. It exposes people to more radiation, which tends to be harmful to your health. If we all switched to waffles, think of the effect on the national cancer rate! Or eat pancakes, if you want everyone you love to die, I guess.
-Good. We don’t need your kind in the post-apocalyptic world anyway.

omg your so amazingly dogmatic cira. i can imagine you laughing while typing this. and microwave radiation is minimal. and what waffles arent carb-fests? and i can a little self control my dear cira.
