Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

Yeah, I’m going to read Ulysses as my next book. I’m reading Walden and some other works by Thoreau right now, but the book is so dense, that I feel like I don’t do it justice when i only read it for five minute spurts after finishing my work in a class. What are you reading?

A bunch of short story books… The Darts of Cupid by Edith Templeton, The 1,000,000 (pound) Bank-Note and other essays by Mark Twain, and Flights of Love by Bernhard Schlink. The last one is interesting… They’re about East and West Germany and the effects of WWII and the division of the country on Germans.

Ugh, I am exhausted. I think I’m going to go power nap for a while… I’ll be back later!

i’d love to be notified early… argh and i dont think we all picked the same program for our number one. if we do all end up in the same place, someone’s gonna be a bit dissatisfied. though just being there will still be worth it.

Most people picked one of the Cornell seminars as their numero uno, right? We’d all still be living together, even if we weren’t in the same seminar there.

When do we find out about the interview? And how, will it be a letter?

You can call in next Friday, though at least one person has been notified already, because Ellen Baer was going to be in his area fairly soon. The number is on the TA website. They’ll mail you, email you, and then call you to set up the interview. I’m not sure what happens if you don’t get an interview.

Geez, do you people have lives or something?

was that sarcasm?

Maybe. Hi Panic! What’s up?

woke up from a nap. im pretty chill right now.

I had to nap earlier… I used to never be able to nap, and the past week I’ve been doing almost nothing but. It’s odd.

I’ll pull a Donny- Listening to anything good right now? I’ve been obsessing over Bloc Party’s This Modern Love for a solid hour now.

Bloc Party FTW, but I don’t like Weekend in The City as much as their first album, it’s so slow compared to their freshman cd.

Sorry about bailing; I had to do an emergency babysitting for my neighbor.

I only have This Modern Love and So Here We Are. I’ll have to check out some of their other songs… Which are your favorites?

It’s fine, I was pretty tired anyway.

Price of Gas is one of my more liked. Use songza if you want to hear it. (:
Really, the entire first album is kick butt.

It has clapping! I love clapping in songs. Illegal Tender by Louis XIV has a great clapping sequence in the beginning. The whole song is a little weird, but has great energy and is pretty catchy.

ahh i wasnt listening to anything i was just sort of waking up outta my coma. and encouraging my friends who are taking the SATs tomorrow.

Oh yeah! Any of you taking SAT’s tomorrow?
I’m going to sign up for the next one. It will be my third time. ):

Nope. I probably should be though. I think I’m cutting it a little close on my testing schedule. I’m doing SAT I’s in May and II’s in June, I think.

How do you go about signing up for the ACT’s? Collegeboard doesn’t sponsor it, so I don’t know how to sign up.
