Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

Howdy. I’ve been thinking over my PB&J science all day. Before yesterday, I thought I was just a loser, but now, I’m a loser with a future in the “sandwich bar” idea. (:

Hooray!!! I’m getting an interview :)

Although… apparently the man thinks I’m in America. I’m actually in Germany on an exchange. Hopefully he can do skype/telephone…

Good luck to everyone else!

Congrats! But how/why were you notified so early?

Donny, Cakespy has some sweet sandwich ideas that look might tempting. I love the idea of the mini nonpareil sandwich… So cute!

Topspin, how did you find out? Ellen Baer said we couldn’t call until next week.

WANT Cookie Dough Sandwich!
Hey, Cira.

Me too… But I think I’m tacitly forbidden from baking until my last experiment has been entirely consumed, and there’s still a whole chocolate cake downstairs…

Think of the possibilities! Any cookie dough you could imagine- suddenly a sandwich! I’m thinking some kind of peanut butter butterscotch monstrosity would be awesome…

Not sure why I got notified so early, but I got sent an email from Ellen saying that she’d be interviewing in my area (Portland) in mid march, and wanted to set up a time.

Wow, now I’m going to be even more freaked out about the next week. If they call me to say I got an interview, it could be coming at any time! Augh!

It’s like a horror movie. You don’t know when, you don’t know where, but within the next week, TASP will get you. (:

Or worse: They won’t. ):

Dun Dun Da!

headdesk

I would hate getting rejected so much more now that I’ve gotten to know you guys. I really want to meet you all!

No kidding! Even if I’m rejected, I’m invoking squatter’s rights on this thread. (:

Definitely.

I think it might be worse if we all got in, but went to different seminars. We’d never make beautiful cookie-sandwiches together… ):

No! I typed a super long post, but it didn’t post!
I pretty much said, “yeah, that would suck.” ):

Ugh, malfunctioning interwebs suck.

Pretty much yeah.

So, got any exciting weekend plans? Mine consist of not seeing any of my friends because they’re working or making out with their girlfriend all weekend.

My schedule is as follows, Work, homework, Work, homework.

Very exciting. (:

I don’t have much homework, just a little translating for Latin and research for an APUSH project. Probably working out some stuff for a paper on Macbeth… I’m pretty annoyed with Macbeth right now. We’ve been working on it since like, November. Definitely time to move on to something else.

My English teacher doesn’t really like to assign us pieces of literature to read, which is a bummer. She rathers for us to annotate speeches and short articles, so as to become “Master Analyzers” of all rhetorical tools and arguments. It gets old real fast

Macbeth is the first thing we’ve done in its entirety this year… We did some Canterbury Tales and part of Beowulf. We had to memorize the introduction to Canterbury Tales in old English for no good reason… I don’t know what we’re doing next. Hopefully something a little more enjoyable and thought provoking. I’ve been told that I’d like James Joyce, so I think I’ll check out some of his stuff next time I’m at the library.
