Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

I didn’t know what to say about it. She deserved it, although she calmed down once we all confronted her about it.
If it were up to me, I’d eat organic, free-range meats. However, I’m in a somewhat large household, it’s terribly expensive, and there’s really no selection of feel-good meat at my local supermarket. I prefer my food products as unfettered as possible, but I can’t control my mother’s grocery shopping.

hear hear to that cira. i tried being vegetarian but just couldn’t commit to it. and im still riding on a permit, i need to get my full license.

Free-range? Do free-range chickens even exist anymore? (:

where i live, a lot of stuff is free-range (i.e. deer, duck, etc.) most my meat comes from the store tho’

Some people raise them now. The term isn’t defined by the FDA, so it isn’t actually meaningful on packaging, but I’ve heard that real organic, free-range meat is super delicious.

Anyone ever had organic, raw milk? It’s awesome. I buy it from the Amish for making cheese.

I’ve never had venison, but I think I’ve had duck and it’s a little fatty for me. Is free range stuff not so greasy, Elmo?

Is anyone here opposed to hunting?

Not in theory. The thought of hunting bunnies makes me sad, though. I had bunnies living under my shed in my backyard for ages, they were terribly cute.

i dont do it personally but it if is your main source go for it i guess.
or do you mean recreational?

and i no i havent wouldnt the milk make you sick?

free-range foods are generally leaner, and have a fresher taste. some of it - like venison - you have to acquire a taste for. never had free-range duck tho’. fish you catch urself is darn good…

I would like to go hunting. Not for the feeling of power that killing a living animal would bring but for the chance to experience self-sufficiency in its entirety.

Nope! Keep it refrigerated and it’s fine and delicious, assuming you didn’t buy it from a shoddy source. It’s not homogenized so the cream floats to the top, and the flavor hasn’t been heat-processed out of it. It’s awesome.

I think Walden is getting to you Donny.

Fresh caught fish is nice, except from Lake Ontario… You can’t eat too much of it because of chemical pollution. Thank you, the 1970’s.

ahh like when the milk man used to bring it to you?
my chemistry teacher ( who is like ancient) would talk about it.

I actually had milk delivered from the dairy for the first 13-14 years of my life. We had a milk lady though. She was nice.

that is awesome.

Getting me? It got me before I even knew it existed. (:
I’m curious what instilled this ideology in me, because no one in my family thinks along the same lines.

Freshly made milk must be included in the PB&J Bar, cira. Honestly, what is a PB&J without a cold glass of milk? The only problem now is getting cows zoned for a city food shop…

maybe no one has to. maybe you must innovate.

Something instilled a passion for individualism in you at a young age, and mixed with your idealism and romanticism, results in your current personal philosophies, maybe?

We’ll outsource to the country and have underground pneumatic tubes deliver it fresh from the udder. (:

don’t forget the healthy dose of feminism that depleted don’s masculinity points

I think the desire to hunt packs a few on. Sitting in in a tree stand in camoflage in 40 degree rain for seven hours is super manly.

or psychotic.
