Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

There are other nut butters, they’re just not as common.

PBM&J! Peanut butter, buffalo milk mozzarella and jam/jelly.

Since porna’s not here, I’ll make the requisite innuendo giggle.

Mls, cira and I have a history of a passion for PB&J.

Okay, I really can’t think of anything intelligent to say for this monumental post count, so I will say this.

Also, hugs for everyone! Embrace the inner Satan! Let us engage in Satanic rituals and mysticism for TASP!

I like hazelnut butter too, just as a sidenote.

You could dip the sandwich into the milk, a la grilled cheese and tomato soup…

hugs I heart Satan!

Have you ever tried it on Swedish limpa bread? It’s a light rye bread and my mother swears it’s amazing with peanut butter.

Grill it really well, cut it into croutons and serve it with warmed, condensed buffalo milk soup.

My mom actually sometimes makes tomato soup using a milk base. I know it sounds gross, but it can actually turn out really good, if you get the proportions and spices right…

I love that throwaway comments are in depthly explored by this thread. (:

Congrats, Wink! May your dictatorship be more successful than Emperor Nero’s!

Like, bisque?

Call me Augustus!

My dad makes phenomenal tomato soup. He grills the tomatoes first to give them a nice smoky flavor, purees them and there is naturally a bit of cheese (not too well aged) and cream or milk for deliciousness.

Cira, I am now conviced that you have gourmet chefs as parents. Honestly, do you realize that no other kid has food like that? Most of us actually have “Taco Nights” and “Pizza Night.” (:

Okay, it’s official, tomorrow’s lunch is the tomato soup.

i must diagree. i dont know what reincarnated super chefs cira has for parents, but i dont do " insert food" nights at my house either. though i love chinese food.

My dad is pretty amazing, I know. I don’t know what I’m going to without a nice kitchen in college… ): I will sigh tearfully over my poptarts and cold pizza and dream of steak and his grilled chicken and all the other wonderful things he makes. He’s an engineer, though, not a chef. He’s pretty random. It’s probably where I get 70% of my awesome from.

The TRUE superchef could probably turn poptarts and cold pizza into 5 star cuisine.

Nor do I, mls, but hyperboles emphasize my point and are easier to use than long written-out explanations of the status-quo of the average American’s dinner regiment.

If we’re in TASP together, I will cook for you all on Sunday Nights when there is no real personal chef. You will probably stand back in amazement at the deliciousness I will purvey.

I don’t usually get much diversity in the food realm. We are pretty much limited to: Indian food, Indianized Italian food, Indianized Chinese food, Indianized Mexican food, Indianized Middle Eastern…but I LOVE spicy food (as in…stupid hot food).

My mom is a great cook, though, but imprecise. We never use recipes in my household. My brother naively picks up recipe cards from Meijer thinking that anyone will actually use them…silly boy, really. Sadly, neither of us can cook. I have a paranoid fear of stoves.

Sad news all (well, for me, anyways): the local La Shish has closed down because apparently the owner owes some $7 million to the government due to tax fraud and has fled the country. This is a very sad day for Canton, Michigan…:frowning: ;)

“Indianized Italian food” Sounds… intriguing? The only Indian food I ever had was when I was in England. Delicious, though. I wish there was a restaurant here in town. I hate stupid fraudulent restaurateurs. They closed down the best coffee shop in town for the same reasons. ):

That reminds me of The Professor. (:
“Good news, everybody!”
Futurama has brainwashed me into a Pavlovian response whenever I hear the phrase, “Good News.”
