frankly i would have let her have it. my school’s Caribbean club puts on the black history show and then disappears ( i’ll have no part of that) i’m not for clubs that center on “oo your from that district of wherever too let’s be exclusive”. educational and humanitarian are how i likes 'em. it is not as if she is gonna start burning crosses on the school lawn. and we dont have a Hispanic club

and i am no longer friends with my email either, it wont show me what i want to see.

For some whites, no, they don’t have a lot of cultural ties to the old country. Where I live, there are still huge ethnic communities, especially in Buffalo. We have this indoor open-air market where you can buy ethnic-ish food products (mostly Polish stuff), and you should see the hubbub about Dyngus Day in Buffalo. There are Italian delis and Irish import stores all over the area.

“We have an Italian club, a Scotch-Irish club, a French club, a German club, a Macedonian club, etc.”
You’re school isn’t the norm then, fridge. My school has a club dedicated to the culture of practically every ethnic group present at my school, but Caucasians. As well, most of the members of these ethnic clubs are of the ethnicity that the club is centered around. The large majority of people in the Asian Club are Asian, The large majority of people in the Caribbean Club are Black. The large majority of the Hispanic Club are Hispanic.
This girl wanted to start a European club, dedicated to the general culture of Europe, so many people assumed that most of the people would be white who joined the club, which makes sense, but having a club dedicated to nothing but “White” culture caused the principal or whoever was in charge to have a kneejerk reaction to racism and white supremacy.

doesn’t it being indoors cancel out the open-air part or am i thinking of something else?
American schools are very caught up in not messing up that they make bad policies. i wonder if my school would let me open up a European Club opened up. then again i couldnt get my club for fund raising for Africa approved.

but we aren’t worried about Asian supremacy? and the Asian club is technically predominately Asian but most of the active members aren’t.

and am i the only one who doesn’t quite link France up with i guess European society. Like Irish, Italian, and English fit but French seems like the odd one out to me.

Oh, I don’t know what I’m saying. I just mean that they’re stalls, not stores like a mall. There’s a lot of air above them, does that count?

Apparently your school isn’t, if you can send money to Asia but not Africa.

that would interesting, a mall of food stores. and ok i get what you mean.

Donny could set up his PB&J shop there!

It would be glorious. (:

Ugh, I get the feeling I’m not supposed to feel this tired yet… It’s not even seven.

that is the weight of life on you cira.

Probably also the weight of staying up so late last night. That was an awesome evening. (:

I’m absorbed in TED discussions right now. Good stuff.

I love TED talks. Have you seen the one with the bonobo lady? It’s really fascinating.

Random thought on review of last night: why did porna assume I was a chick at first? She seemed so confident…

I believe you described yourself as fierce? It just seems like more of a feminine thing to do.

porna is always confident, even if operating on zero knowledge. (:

we have a return customer.

Yeah, that was more a failed attempt at trying to transmit ‘sardonic’ over the intertubes, not really a formal self-definition or anything.

Panic, no need to celebrate yet. Just like lunar_year, I’m only sticking til I get what I want from this forum, vis a vis group anxiety counseling.

He’s been nicked. The nicked ones stick better.

At least one member of the thread is failing Jokes 101, so most sardonic comments need to be blasted from a loudspeaker and followed up with an appropriate emoticon.

lol thx hermit. but i can totally imagine you whipping out a sword and charging at someone shouting “I’m fierce” :)
