Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

hahaha i find it hilarious when the national guard send me stuff in the mail
im probably the LEAST athletic person on the planet and i have the SLOWEST reflexes and if the country was in a crisis and i was expected to help…umm let’s not go there

i only get an A in gym because i change my clothes and i arrive on time

Just realized that I’m 3 hours away from Ithaca too - probably in the opposite direction of Earil, though. Earil, what city/town/cow patch are you from?

My Physics teacher hit a cow on the highway once.

Purell! I know! My mile is like, 9 minutes. Why the hell would they send their crap to me?

^^To all of you guys who are worried that you were rejected.

Don’t. I was notified by email and I haven’t received my letter yet, so just hang tight!

Hey, Bezatches. Work once again has kept me away from this thread and homework. I’m shocked how many people got notified. Porna, you rock! Congrats!

Porna, how were my essays? I’m curious seeing as your now a god amogst us mortals. PM if you’re going to rip me a new one.

Hey, Everybody!

A suburb of Buffalo, about half an hour away. Do you have a Facebook, Porna?

Donny! I was wondering when you were going to show up to freak out with us.

TASS accepts 48 students each year, from a pool of about 300ish-400 applicants. Its application process has roughly the same components that TASP does, including interviews. This year, TASS deadlines (and, presumably, subsequent notification dates) were ~a week before TASP’s.

Hey, Cira. I’m so curious as to what Telluride’s motive is to be so sporadic with it’s announcements.

I think it’s the association’s twisted, evil side. They pretend to be super nice, offering us FREE wonderful, amazing academic experiences, and then turns our stomachs into broken glass and tapeworms with anxiety. They’re probably reading this right now and laughing. They’re like evil, evil millionaires.

Hudson: Thanks! No news yet? Aw. And the only essay of yours I actually read was the brother one. It was ok; a little too The Fire Pony (which I loved) muddled with Huckleberry Finn (which I didn’t) for my taste. I really don’t remember, but it was 2 a.m. when I glanced through it. (goes back to her e-mail to actually read it)

Earil: Nope. We live nowhere near one another; I’m an hour north of Binghamton.

Shh, the internets have ears! We wouldn’t want the millionaires hearing us.

I had to google search “The Fire Pony.” Here’s the summary…

“THE FIRE PONY - the action-packed tale of two brothers, and extraordinary pony, and the secret they’re all running from.”

BEST DESCRIPTION OF A BOOK EVER! (:

God, I hated Huck Finn so much. I love all of Twain’s other writings that I’ve read, but something about Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn makes me want to strangle the next person I see that’s wearing overalls.

I read it when I was like, 8. But it was good. Even though I don’t remember anything about it except the final scene.

Oh, neat. I used to go to Binghamton for Odyssey of the Mind competitions.

Dammit, that book needs to be read now.

Ha, mortals, wait for your puny interview notifications - I have a Project Runway finale to watch and an essay to not write!

fwoosh!

Odyssey of the Mind sounds awesome! Did you have fun doing it?

Oh yeah, I googled it. (: Praise be the almighty google.

32flavors how’s life been?

Crap, I have to write my paper about Macbeth. stalls I really, really do not want to write/right now.

It was honestly the most fun EC I’ve ever done. Our coach quit once we went to high school, though… So sad. ):

I need to write notes for A.P. English and do some Pre-cal homework.
We’re Juniors, Cira. We all always have homework to do at midnight. (:

Actually, I had a lot more homework last year than this year. It’s weird. I think I have an easy English and social studies class this year, and that influences it a lot. I only do homework at home once or twice a week, and usually that’s a WebAssign or something like that. It’s making me really lazy.
