i think it’d be more painful to get rejected by mail than by phone. with mail, you don’t have to hear anyone else saying that you don’t qualify

You mean by phone?

Yeah. It must suck to have a job telling people that they’ve been rejected and hearing them sobbing on the other end (well someone must cry), etc. I definitely don’t want to hear that I’ve been rejected over the phone, regardless of how long the mail takes…

BD, are you talking about applying for TASP next year? Because I wasn’t aware that TASS had Cornell and UT seminars in addition to Michigan and Indiana.

I was talking about TASP next year :).

OOOOoooh. Okay. ![]()
Did you just find out today about your interview?

No, I found out on February 27 :)

yea rejection by phone does seem really harsh, but i’m reallyyyyy sick of waiting

the only comfort i have is that washington is a loooong ways from new york

Coolness, BD.
You must be ecstatic.
My ecstasy, hopefully, awaits me tomorrow.
(No, not the drug, silly.)

Unfortunately, I have no comfort of being a long ways from NY…
I only have my winter storm to suckle.

I think I may have actually sounded disconcertingly cheerful after my rejection. I vaguely remember thanking her profusely and remembering to smile into the telephone. They hear that, you know.

storms do hold back the mailman. no one wants frozen mail.

i do that too! i’ll wave goodbye to someone over the phone or nod my head.

Well, I’m totally screwed. I’m three hours away by car from Ithaca and haven’t gotten anything.

Or maybe you could offer to slip them a fifty? ;)

Well obviously a lot of us are in the same boat, and I doubt all of us got rejected because we are too cool. Maybe they didn’t send all the letters on the same day. Some might have gone out yesterday, which would make 2 days officially tomorrow? Here’s to wishing…

But like I said before, I would rather be rejected now than later…

hahaha classik, youre funny (i have an odd penchant for proclaiming who i find funny and who i don’t. yes, youve been accepted into my elite (only 4% acceptance rate!) Club of Funniness. )

We didn’t get like, any mail today. Unless my mom lost it. It was really bad out last night… Maybe it just got screwed up and they couldn’t get it here? Ugh. I hate this so much…

@wink: Yeah. To tell you the truth, I didn’t know anything about TASS or TASP until my guidance counselor told me about these programs and wanted me to apply. When I heard about the low acceptance rate, I new these weren’t easy programs to get into.

Earil, your essays rocked the sheets; I’m sure you’ll get an interview.

I wonder HOW bad exactly the weather has to be to stop the mail. “Neither rain nor sleet nor dead of night” and all that.

Dreamer: What ARE the TASS statistics for acceptance?

Oh! I just realized that we /did/ get mail today…a bunch of crap from the National Guard and colleges trying to recruit me and my brother…
…So I guess blaming the storm is out…
This is getting worse and worse by the minute. I fear it is the end for me! :)

BD - I found out about TASP in the mail. I actually knew about TASS last year (from a teacher), but for complicated reasons, I could not apply…

@PornaTime: I’m not certain. But I’ve heard TASS is quite competitive. I meant to say TASP for the acceptance rate. I’m sorry.

I don’t know. I’m calling tomorrow after school. If this is going to end, it needs to end soon.
