Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

Yes, you are. Commit seppuku this instant.

I decided to celebrate my rejection by blowing a hundred bucks on ten new CD’s off of amazon. I just felt like doing something completely in my control; but in retrospect, blowing a hundred dollars doesn’t seem like such a great idea. Oh well, hopefully the beats will soothe me.

i think it’s ‘lemon crush’. that sometimes wont get you anything though, since our lemonade in general isnt insanely popular over there.

anyone else for essay exchange?

Anyone who wants to trade essays can PM me saying so. I really don’t care anymore; it looks like TASP is done with me…:p

I spent the afternoon window shopping Donny. I was very tempted to splurge, but I only have like, 20 bucks on my debit-y card, so I resisted. What music did you get?

You have a debit card?!
Eh, I’m a very cautious spender. A tightwad, if you will.
I really never spend money on anything…

News from the CASP Admissions Office:
Applications are still being offered for this incredibly selective and enriching program. No, really. Just send us an e-mail, to Alighieri09 at gmail.com. Not that we need applications or anything. Really, it’s flooded as-is. We’re totally not desperate. Scholarships available.

It’s leftover from my trip last summer. I don’t think I used it at all while I was there except at LHR, where I ended up spending like 12 bucks on a macchiato and a fruit cup at Starbucks (damn exchange rate) and over a hundred on various souvenirs… I was planning on getting stuff for all my friends in Rome, but I didn’t end up being able to go there because of a family emergency, so I basically did all my shopping during my layover there.

Hermit, do tell us more about what CASP offers to those it admits.

ahh

that was blunt…
I emailed them yesterday and they gave me one sentence of rejection…
im at school, it’s 7:58am, and i am totally bummed out. i got the reply yesterday night at 11:58pm. I slept in. haha, it’s my best friend’s bday today. smiling would be quite hard… now without tasp, my summer looks totally empty.

but on the other hand, i could to something useful. i just can’t think of it anymore.

garr i think i had too much hope. but you know, i think everything happens for a reason. im just searching for that reason now.

Long list. (:

The Charm of the Highway Strip by The Magnetic Fields

Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters

Do You Like Rock Music? by British Sea Power

Let’s Stay Friends by Les Savy Fav.

Proof of Youth by The Go! Team

We Are The Pipettes by The Pipettes

Kala by M.I.A.

Mirrored by Battles

Matt and Kim by Matt and Kim

Friend or Foe by Menomena

It feels cathartic.

I can’t believe how many CCers were rejected. It feels like the exact opposite of last year’s thread.

Some nice choices!

Thanks, illuminar; the internet is the best place to find people that know the same music as you. I gave up with having the same feeling for music with people in real life long ago. So, who exactly are you a fan of?

Ooh, I’ve heard good things about British Sea Power.

The Magnetic Fields is (are? I hate plurals in singular nouns. They never work out nicely) great. I always get “I Don’t Believe You” stuck in my head.

music
The problem is that my iPod doesn’t sync properly, so the vast majority of my tracks don’t get counted ;_;

I got a 404, illuminar. (:
Cira! I didn’t know you like the Magnetic Fields.

I haven’t gotten a letter or e-mail yet. Is it safe to assume I’ve been rejected? I’ve talked with some friends in the local area (Atlanta, GA), and none of them have recieved anything either. Debating whether to give up hope or grasp the tenuous dream with everything I’ve got…

I like a lot of very varied music. Pretty much anything catchy with decent lyrics and aesthetics.

Jing, I’d advise you to email or call. It stings at first, but it’s better to know for sure.

Jing, I’m in the exact same position. I would suggest either emailing tonight or calling tomorrow. That’s what I’m going to do, just to get some closure on the whole thing, even though I’m pretty sure my chances are kaput.

Would appreciate reciprocity in essay exchanges, if possible ;_;

Did you not get mine, illuminar?
Not that there’s much of a point.
They must not have been any good.
