I’ll send you mine if you really want to read them… Not much point in it, since I failed at TASPplication, but I’d be happy to let you read them.

Most people here were rejected, illuminar, so looking at our essays let alone exchanging them is the last thing we want to do.

Nice music. I can’t believe how many artists you listen to. I’m more restricted I guess.

I guess I shouldn’t speak for the group. :P

The thing is, I usually don’t buy albums, so I have a few songs by many, many artists. I have four songs by the Magnetic Fields, six by Death Cab for Cutie, a few songs from each of several The Shins’ albums, eight from The Postal Service… It allows me a greater breadth of listening, and it lets me really listen to the songs I love, but I never get a full appreciation of their musical span because I only get their good songs.

I didn’t get yours, wink.
edit: nvm

I’m interested in everyones. I don’t think the discrepancy between those chosen for interviews and those who weren’t can be too large. Five essays + nominations leads the program to self selection as it is.

I love British Sea Power, haha
and the Pipettes are basically awesome.
but, sorry, nobody beats the monkeys in my book =P

today I found out my friend has 1) never heard of 90% of the bands on my ipod, haha 2) HAS NO IDEA WHO OASIS IS AND HAS NEVER HEARD WONDERWALL.
thats like…blasphemy, or something!

I can’t believe so many people didn’t make it. you’re all so great!
but yeah, no email or letter, so I’m assuming rejection…my essays weren’t good anyways. I’m too chicken to call though, I don’t think I would like to hear it. Who do we email?

Some of my friends have terrible tastes in music… My best best friend and I like the same stuff, mostly, although his collection tends to be more energetic and pop-punk-rock than mine. His current favorite band is Cobra Starship.

Wow, cira, I’m the exact opposite. I force myself to listen to a song I hate until I sing the words over in my head, just so I can keep the entire album. I need order, I guess you could say, or micro-managing if you were being honest. (:

YOU DA MAN, COBRA! If anyone is a fan, they’ll get it.

Ugh I didn’t think we’d be able to call until tomorrow but then I came here and everyone already found out their interview status. =[ It irks me so much that I could have known but now their office is closed so I have to wait until tomorrow.

Does no e-mail/paper mail yet mean that I’ve been rejected? Should I even bother trying to call tomorrow?

News from the CASP Admissions Office:

CASP is a highly selective program; last year, no applicants at all were selected from our pool of over -5,000. That’s right, that makes CASP more selective than Harvard, Princeton, MIT, and Stanford… combined!

While participating in a Summer Seminar, CASPers are given the opportunity to meet many other young, bright individuals of wit and glamour. A Seminar topic usually covers an area of study unique among summer programs, while still providing an academic environment unparalleled in its ‘close-to-home’ appeal.

CASPers will be housed in one of two CASP Houses. This is a cherished tradition in the CASP family, in which housing arrangements are decided by coin toss on orientation day. While we don’t like to think of people as ‘winners’ or ‘losers’, many CASPers prefer CASP House Alpha over CASP House Omega, or as it is playfully known, the ‘CASP Tent’! CASP is proud to have such an inventive and sleep-deprived bunch of high-achievers in its ranks of alumni.

Alumni of CASP fill many vital positions in our society, using the lessons they learned in our lofty halls to maintain the advancement of civilization. In offices such as Maintenance Technician, Parole Officer, and Assistant Regional Vice-Manager, CASPers truly make this country ‘go’!

Though this year’s seminars have already been listed, their inventiveness and sheer beauty bears repeating. Keep in mind, all seminars are hosted inside the shelter of CASP House Alpha, on our beautiful South Florida campus:

CASP House I: “Hermitology and Post-Modernism: Where did All the Buffalo Milk Go?”

CASP House II: “Suburbia[.com], Culture and Music”

CASP House III: “Which President Would You ****? A Comparative Analysis”

Good music is one of the few things in my life that I can always enjoy. It’s my prozac. I go straight to the grin-inducers and soul-touchers. I laud your will-power to listen to stuff that’s less than the best, though.

CASP rankings: I, III and then II. Actually, all of them, simutaneously.

Shuffle - I really don’t know. I’m in the same position. I would say, email them tonight, unless you think you can handle the harshness of a phone rejection. There /may/ be the possibility that some letters are still lost in the abyss that is the US Postal Service…I say this because it seems that a shockingly low number of CCers have been selected…

Classik - sign me up for #1

Only 50 more pages til’ 500!

Haha. I don’t listen to Cobra Starship, Cira. My sister does, I’m actually kinda worried about her devotion. Anyway, me and her hang out more than is healthy for people that are related, and I always hear her stuff. The line is from one of their videos that she showed me; I’ll bet your friend would recognize it if you yelled it from across the room the next time you see him. (:

I think it’s really disappointing that they proportioned the number of interviews to the number of applicants, instead of keeping the same number as last year. I’m thinking (for purposes of my own ego) that us CC-ers were definitely the last ones on the chopping block. I know you all would have blown them away in the interview… Blerg, I need to not go down this road of thought. Onward and upward, Cira!

I love my older sister too. She knits and introduces me to brilliant webcomics and we totally geek out together whenever she’s home, approximately never, that is. Stupid college and stupid boyfriends who steal her away from me…

Ahh but CC is a small community in itself. Do not give up hope though, your not out until they tell you so.

From the CASP Admissions Office:

Remember potential CASPers! Please refer all admissions questions/comments to Alighieri09@gmail.com, to recieve your formal e-application.

CASP sounds amazing. I’ll be applying for sure. PM me the app :)

So, seeing as most of us are TASP rejects and invalids in the eyes of the Telluride Association, what are every bodies’ alternatives? How will summer '08 be spent by everyone?

i still haven’t heard back yet :/

i tried calling telluride around 3:30 pacific time, and no one answered…

now i’m emailing. which means i’ll probably have to wait until tomorrow.

THIS IS KILLING ME.

Haha, spiky… you must have called on ellen baer’s lunch break. I bet she eats whole-grain soy pita pockets.
