Call that number tomorrow between 10 and 4 Eastern time (or maybe 9 and 4, I’m not exactly sure).

Then participate in the following conversation:

Dial number

You: Anxiously “Hello, I’m a TASP applicant and was wondering if you were able to check my interview status.”

Person: Hurriedly “Last name, please”

You: “[Say last name]”

Person:
[ul][]Possibility A: Congratulations, you will be getting an interview.
[]Possibility B: I’m sorry to say that you will not be getting an interview.[/ul]

I give it two thumbs up! Acting could have been a bit more in depth, but all together, I loved the movie’s message: hope; more specifically, hope that you won’t be annihilated by the Telluride phone answerer.

I like the open-endedness. We’re not given the complete story… Does our protagonist burst into tears just after we cut to black? Is he happy/sad/indifferent? We’re left to draw our own conclusions about his life thereafter. It’s only a snippet, a moving, powerful, tiny glimpse onto one person’s encounter with the unknown in life. Bravo.

I got my letter today…I’m a finalist! Oh man, I’m so excited! I can’t wait to get to the interview. Has anybody here already gone through this process before? How formal/informal are the interviews? How long do they last? How many times should I reread the essays I wrote to make sure I don’t forget anything? What is appropriate to wear? Whoever has some answers please PM me and calm me down, because I’m spazzing the hell out. Woot!

I think the above scene offers up an existential definition, and suggests that we must decide for ourselves the paths that our lives will take, creating a purpose for our existence along the way…cleary the phone call serves as a metaphor for human existence, and seeming lack of control and futility it bears. I think this moving masterpiece calls for a Pulitzer…

New summer project: write an angsty play/novel/Jagged Little Pill-esque album about the stressfulness of junior year, including TASP…

Someone please tell me the logic of a person being notified that their package will arrive on Monday the 10th even though they asked for ONE-DAY SHIPPING when they placed the order on March 7th.

I think it won a bunch of Tony’s. I haven’t seen much of it (on Youtube) but I hear about it everyday in pre-calc. Usually they start singing, too. (:

It’s too late for their system to process the order, so it won’t be shipped until tomorrow morning, which is the seventh. Still, the order should get to me by Saturday.

Oh my. Singing in pre-calculus about teenage sex and hormones?
Well, it’s not like they weren’t thinking about it anyway. Might as well let it out. ;)

My brother just sent me this when I told him that I was rejected. (:
God, I love how awesome he is. Maybe it will cheer you guys up some, but I still say that you should have hope, fridge.
