I haven’t been called yet, so i’ll most likely be last lol

I emailed TASP, they said my interviewer was gone and would contact me in like a week.

hey PanicPower and Tyler09, at least I can tell somebody how my interview goes like haha

well mine’s on April 11th so I might be one of the few last people
My person (Amy Saltzman) is flying from New York (or err somewhere on the East coast, I don’t know why I said New York…maybe she mentioned it in the phone call or something hahah)…and apparantly there are atleast 3 people in Iowa City (!! I know) who got an interview…sadly

(siiiiiiiiiiiigh.)

This next month will be torture. TORTURRRRE. We need engaging debates here to distract ourselves.

April 11th is late? I hope my interviewer has a time machine handy, because mine is April 18th. They only have 12 days to make my decision =O

How many people does everyone have? I only have one but I’ve heard that they use up to six.

Aaaah, I’m sick and my interview is tomorrow. It’s on the phone, so I guess I’ll suck it up and do it.

i’ve never heard of someone having six people i think the most is 3 or 4, and i am under the impression that i have two interviewers, oh ho.

Ok

I’m starting to really freak out about how much preparing everyone is doing.

Especially since right now I’m in Germany since my grandma died and I had to travel unexpectedly.
I dont get back to Monday…

But w.e. I dont know if I should bother readign 4-5 of my books. I read them over a year ago and they are very vague in my mind but I included them because they have been big favorites.

For those who have already been interviewed, what did you wear? (I’m a guy). How formal were you?

Anyone else in the Washington DC area thats willing to communicate by IM???

Overall I’m not worried b/c I do Debate, Forensics, Model UN, Mock Trail etc. I just hope that I dont get too overexcited and agressive with my opinions when I’m interviewed.

My interviewer called me almost a month ago (!!!), told me the day of the interview and recommended me to dress casually
Hope that helps, 09910…(why such a long number?!) :).

I’m going to be interviewed in 2 days but I haven’t known the location and the time yet (?!), so I just called the interviewer (still haven’t figured out if that is a woman or a man lol)
Now I need help
SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS
That person told me to call him Jay (sounds like a man’s name) but the caller ID showed a woman’s name (Joseph, Sosa)
HELP HELP HELP :D

philoglossia, april 18th !!! lol I bet ur the latest haha

I only have 1 interviewer. But they said they’d make u feel comfortable at most. So it’ll be okay, panicpower ;)

I’m getting nervous for tomorrow. The guy’s name is Paul and he lives in the house. Anyone have him? >_>

illuminar: dont worry so much your person is from the house therefore he is a college student and remembers what it was like to go for Telluride. I am not saying he is going to be a breeze interviewer, but I guess you could take comfort in his age.

and Jay Sosa is a man, we met him at TASS. He was a nice, approachable person. He is high level TA, I want to say a chairman or president…not too sure. Do not by any means let that scare you; he is a college student.

ouch that hurts me, panicpower :b
He was nice on the phone, too. If it’s true, then i’ll have a nice intviewer
Thanks :)

enneige–yes the 18th. my interviewer is a past president of the TA (!) and current of the interview committee (!!!) and a world-leading scholar in the field i <3 and spend a lot of time on (!!!) and works with a close friend of my family (!!!)

it’s going to be weird.

(various indications of despair) Agh. I want to get in sooo badly now. I’m glad I’ve already interviewed or I know I’d f*** it up. I always do well until I actually really want something; I made it to finals at our debate districts (finals for nationals), got excited after seeing my number on the sheet, and did my 10-minute script perfectly UNTIL the last 2 seconds when I f***ed it up nicely by bowing before my final line.

See, this is what our college admissions will be like next year. The only difference is that it’s TASP, so it’s way more awesome than any college and there’s a
.0000000000000000000000000000000028 % chance of getting in off the waitlist. I feel like I’m jinxing myself just by actually saying how much I want it. Even when you’re a science person, I don’t think you ever shake off the 10-year-old inside that tells you that you’re jinxing yourself in some voodoo karmic way.

I kiss the TASP letter on my wall each time I leave my room.

I’m normal.
Would anyone else like to rant about how bad they want it?

Do nationals lead to qualifications for the Worlds School Debate Championships?

I’m so confused by debating in the states. Leagues, Policy Debate, Forensics. What’s the deal? :p

I don’t know. For Forensics, there are Districts, which send 2 people in each category (unless there’s less than 8 people in it) to Nationals, which…do something else. Districts are like States, since there are no States.

Does that mean they have about 10days to determine everything?

Actually it’s the interview that worries me, not the result (basically the same lol) so my mind is set free after tomorrow :)

C’est fini. 30 minutes.

I thought it went well, my interviewer was super nice, and it centered around the topics of my essays. The only thing that kind of worries me was that it was so short.

And now, I take my leave of CC until the letters arrive, because this site is really pretty ridiculous :p. Time to enjoy some It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
