that i like.
but ummm can we not define people by “normal” and i guess not normal. its such a subjective word.

Heh, yeah, there are always the eight month pregnant kids walking around my school. And no, it doesn’t usually happen to the Honor’s students.

That’s why I think the promotion of birth control methods like IUDs instead of condoms or hormone pills would work best. It’s always working, you won’t forget to take it, you won’t get drunk and forget…

I know I’m kind of playing the devil’s advocate here. Eugenics is a very scary concept, and we can’t just go about trying to eradicate stupid people. It’s just that there’s a trend towards dysgenics and I think it should be corrected. Plus, it’s an interesting topic to talk about.

IUD being?
yeah the last pregnant person in my school was a 17 year old hispanic girl who was new in the country. she was proud.

Okay. Average and above average intelligence, not normal and smart.

Intra-uterine device. They release hormones continuously, so it’s easier than the pill or the patch or anything else, really.

ahhh i see. and thx. and i wonder if there was a simpler answer that required male use would it become commonplace.

Vasectomies are simple, efficient, often reversible, much cheaper and less painful than a woman getting her tubes tied, say in a marriage when they’re done having children. Yet a lot of men don’t want them done because they’d feel less virile. It’s a male ego thing.

yes but that is ideal in a marriage. cant expect every bachelor to walk up and order a vasectomy. and i must admit id be cautious in asking someone to get the snip.

I think a lot of men feel that contraception is the woman’s responsibility and just leave it up to her. Women do have a good reason not to get pregnant-9 months of hell from within, 18 years of hell from outside.

It’s probably just a lot easier scientifically to prevent pregnancy on the female side too.

possibly. but whatever. new topic?

There are plenty of methods of contraception out there, offering lots of options. It’s just a matter of convincing people that it is important to use them consistently.

true that.

Nuclear weapons, anyone? Or censorship/free speech? Or capital punishment?

free speech is too easy lol.

Yeah, it’s hard to come up with dissenting opinions on free speech.

You guys know anything about trusted computing?

nope i do not

No. Enlighten us?

http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/can-you-trust.html</a> and http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tcpa-faq.html</a> provide a nice background. I wrote my issue essay on it. If you want, I can pretend I’m for it and we can argue about it.

o ive had my fill. im off you guys to other random discussion. ta ta.

Hmm…it seems like an interesting topic, but I am so uneducated in this area that I don’t know how dynamic debate would be.

EDIT: To be honest, I’m a little afraid of facing you on my own, Earil. :)

Bwahaha, I shall swoop in upon my winged horse and cut your ears off!!

Because I’m really that evil. I think I’ll take it as a complement, so thank you very much!
Okay then, not so serious. What kind of movies do you like?
