I am still vainly hoping that those emails were like EDs because the applicants were superb and the rest of us can still hope for regular.

analogous:
That makes me very happy. I would love to receive a rejection letter. It would make me love Telluride even more.

If its anything i’ve learned from philosophy class—>Its don’t have hope. Nihilism ftw. now i have to go worry over there at the RSI forums…

Seriously, I thought I was a drama queen, until I read this thread.

None of you are definitively out until you get a rejection letter.
So suck it up and wait.

Congrats to those who made it.
I know I’m jumping for joy for certain applicants.

…seriously?

Oy.

I really hope no email =/= rejection. I’m still holding out hope for a couple of days.

This is stupid. I’m wearing my “Hope is for sissies” shirt, but hope is basically the only thing I have right now. D:

As expected, no email. TASP would have been a great experience, even though this isn’t the last cut. Good luck to those who are still holding on to that strand of hope, but I’m taking this as a definitive, probably rejection. :D

Again, good luck!

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

The people who made it to the interview stage (so far) should be excited. You made it!
Be excited, so we can all be excited for you too.

Elaborate?

Paradox? Lol.

Hey congrats to those who made it to next round
You should be extremely proud because you must have written some pretty amazing essays. NICE.

I mean, I’m disappointed, but I feel like those were some of the best essays I’ve written nevertheless, and I’m sure I can reuse them some time in the future
SO…moving on. Bio final tomorrow :(

How many have gotten the interview email so far?

2 from CC and 2 embeezy’s friends. Hope that magic can happen to the rest of us.

congrats to you guys who’ve received the emails!

Amaze the interviewers and show them the CC spirit.

No offense to anyone at all, but IMO a large number of the members of the site are grade-grubbing and resume-padding. Hopefully none of the peeps here applying to TASP are like that, so probably not a good idea to show that sort of “spirit” (:

I’m the opposite of this CC archetype; if anyone knows anything about me, they know that laziness is one of my worst and unfortunately pervasive traits…I can’t put in the effort in school for the love of me, and as such I’ve been slipping. Sometimes situations make it so that it’s justified, but usually, laziness/procrastination is simply a chronic behavior of mine. Additionally, I have few national (or even regular) EC’s, few noteworthy ones, listed none in the App, and uh, I honestly have nothing for college, never really did much for college. How’d I come here and post, idk, I normally just post on HSL.

Anyways, as my grades are bottom tier (no exaggeration, and unusual since it’s CC), I think my chances are already a lot lower than the rest of the finalists. If they do truly base their acceptances on ideas, personality and the overall picture over grades and statistics, then I have some hope.

Good luck to everyone else, as I heard decisions won’t be final until the end of this week or so.

I doubt that one can amaze the TASP interviewers by showing off his/her transcripts and ECs. I mean to show them the maturity/originality/insight, etc.

Is it just me, or do any of the other rejectees (assuming all acceptance letters are out) wish they could know the readers thoughts on their essays? :)

ColegeBownd: I hadn’t thought of that, but YES that would be amazing.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this situation. On the one hand, it’s weird that they would send out acceptances to some, but not all interviewees. However, CC had a much higher percentage of people advancing to the next round last year, from what I can tell (although there are about 50 spots this year, compared to 68 last year, and application numbers may well be up). Furthermore, they did e-mail in waves last year, and it’s not like they couldn’t have e-mailed all at once if they wanted to then. And the signals people have received from the TASP offices does seem to suggest that there are more advancements to come, after all, if the real scenario was “all the acceptances have been sent,” there’d be no real reason to say “you should know within 24 hours.”

Epitome of mixed signals ):
