Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2010

Nothin’.

Well, with TASP not happening, what is everybody planning to do this summer? I’m hunting around for options. There’s a ton of math/science options, but I’d really love to do something in the social sciences, perhaps politics or economics. Any ideas?

My only email was from American Eagle, how sad. Haha. Congrats to everyone that made the interviews!

0.

One of my friends is probably doing the Brown program, so I might go as well even though it’s SO expensive o_o
If not, I’m doing language immersion :D

Nothing. Pretty bummed, not gonna lie. I braced myself for rejection so much but I still had this little glimmer of hope. Hah, more reason not to be an optimist. -.- I hope I can get into at least one of the creative writing workshops I applied to, but even now that’s seeming a little dubious.

I think we can comfort ourselves by thinking that we are the direct victims of the economic crisis.

And I figure that I should stop wasting time tracking this thread. Back to reality, do our work and be as productive and successful as we used to be. We can’t be bogged down by TASP, something we might have never known. I have been longing to see you guys this summer; this hope has already scattered but we can still meet one another at colleges one year later. And we will be proudly smiling together and feeling that TASP is not the only thing in the world that is worth striving for.

Good luck for myself and good luck for each and every one of you!

ahhh poop.

I’m Just CRYING!!!
I checked my email and …I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I’m shaking with joy.
Party!
all the time! every day!

I won’t be able to say any more but God bless everyone!
And to everyone who didn’t get an interview, man you guys are brilliant I’m absolutely sure you’ll do something completely awesome this summer. So god bless, and good night.
AAAH! still in shock!

I got an interview. Couldn’t stop grinning all day.

Cool! I am a Telluride finalist!

thanks for the words happysunnyshine.
I’m disappointed, but the majority of my unhappiness was taken out yesterday. I kind of didn’t expect anything today. I kinda thought I’d at least get an interview though. Its a bummer…but what can you do?

my backups aren’t bad options, but TASP would’ve been amazing.

@yeoman - maybe this sounds weird but although i haven’t posted on this thread at all, i checked it almost every day after i submitted my application and thought you would get in for sure. also, i’m a bob dylan fan, too.

@happysunnyshine: i know exactly what you mean.

well, i’m applying to the yale ivy scholars program and other things through questbridge (but this is for low-income families). it’s a shame that there is really nothing else out there like tasp.

Really, really sad. :frowning: But congrats to you all. You deserve it.
Hopefully at least one of my other programs go through. I don’t think I can bear another let down.
