1) We don’t know how they select interviewees, it’s a mystery. The general consensus seems to be that they just like some people (essay based) than others.
2) If you get asked for an interview you do have to mail a transcript and letter of recommendation. I’m not 100% but I think grades do not play a considerable role unless you are failing or something. I think they look at the person and not the numbers.

Disclaimer: I am only a TASP app sender this year I don’t have any real experience besides CC

Thanks for posting the stats =) that sounds much more encouraging than 5%…besides TASP I’m also applying to lbw…hopefully Ill at least get into that one

I know this isn’t so much on the same topic ,but I applied to TASS (The Sophomore Summer Program) ,and I didn’t know they based most of your acceptance on your essays. My essays were not that great Lets just say it was like 8th grade material. I really hope I make it. Do you think they’ll care if my essay had some grammatical errors. I also don’t think I wrote any unique aspects of myself that would make them choose me. What do you think they look for in TASSers or TASPers?
I’m praying I make it!

^Superior… would you really want them to accept someone who didn’t put in the time to prove they were worthy of the program? Just consider it a lesson learned to help prepare you for TASP next year.

I’ve never posted on this thread or on CC before, but I’ve been reading for a long time, although never quite ready to pop my head up. I’m nervous about the interview acceptances because my essays ended up being quite rushed on the last night of, and semi-consciously I’ve been beating myself up over it for weeks.

Anyways, here goes nothing!

Good luck to all. It’d be really great if we really did eventually meet eachother.

So you think this person is hoping for a rejection? Obviously, one would want TASP to accept someone who didn’t put in the time to prove they were “worthy” of the program if one was said person.

I think they would be out after. I’m taking the SAT in March though.

From what I understand from past threads, interview notifications come out the first week of March.

I believe that decisions are made in May, at which time all applicants will be notified. I do not know however if notifications that you will not receive an interview are made… it would be fairly obvious however if you just haven’t heard anything by mid-March.
