so…I just realized that I provided the wrong number of students in my junior class. Do you think that Telluride is going to care?

Our class doesn’t rank so I put “n/a.” It’s too late to do anything now but I’m guessing that doesn’t matter much - insight?

^ I think I read that if your school doesn’t rank that you should give an educated guess. My school doesn’t rank either.

I really think the essays matter so much more than the rest of the information.

I took an educated guess at my class rank because my school only does decile ranking. I assumed that was what they wanted. In any case, I don’t think its that big of a deal.

my school doesnt tell rank either.
actually i dont even know how many kids are in my grade…
i just guessed a number between 300 and 400.
and I have no idea where i would be placed but i assume no less than top 20%…
but thats how little info my school discloses…

I’m too lazy right now to put my name in the list, but I sent my application too =)

Are there any other international applicants like me? Because TASP schedule reaaaaally sucks for intl students who have to get a visa…

What are your backups? I’m thinking JSA or FTE. What about you guys?

Some statistics that I compiled two years ago, for those who are curious (I know I was):

Applicants 68
Interviewees 35
Accepted 21
Waitlist 2
2nd-R Acceptance 60%
Overall Acceptance 31%

For a myriad of reasons, CC is not a representative pool of TASP applicants. The statistics assume that everyone who reported themselves as applying but never came back to report a result was rejected.

@brazbloke Another international applicant here. I’ll probably apply to Clark Scholars as a “backup”… Clarkies plz don’t get mad at me. You know I was being sarcastic.

Would visas really be a problem? The scholarship notification is in early May and the program begins on June 26. A little over a month, just enough for visa applications right? And from what I know, they’ll probably notify successful international applicants a little bit earlier than the rest… Former international TASPers please confirm/repudiate this.

so how exactly do they select people to interview? is it based on if they liked the person from their essays? Did the essays have to be perfectly written? (because I know mine weren’t)

also once they decide to give you an interview and they ask for your transcript and stuff do your grades play a factor in getting selected? Because my grades are terrible but I am really ambitious and I want to be able to go to a program as great as TASP.

I don’t know about visas in my country (Brazil) - I scheduled an interview tomorrow with an EducationUSA counselor, so I hoo=pe my doubts will be answered…
