does anyone know if they ask about your areas of intellectual interest you listed on the application?

Well, mine was yesterday, and it went all right. No major slip-ups, but I don’t feel like I said anything especially “deep,” either…

yes, they did ask about my areas of intellectual interests.

Had mine on Saturday. How many people had one on one interviews vs. more than one interviewer?

I haven’t had mine yet, but my interviewer told me I was going to meet with 2 or 3 people. I got the triple whammy (it’s with a group, the guy who emailed me is a lawyer, and it’s taking place at a prestigious university), but who knows, maybe the professional setting will make my mind grapes work better. Besides, no matter what happens, at least I’ll know it could have been in Goldman Sachs.

Anyone else who’s been interviewed have any feedback? Obviously it’s different for everyone, but I like to convince myself that being nosy is somehow helpful.

My interviewers didn’t even mention my stated areas of intellectual interest. We spent two hours just on my essays.

I had an interview tonight, one on one. It was really relaxing. He asked questions, but those are not hard, just sometimes confusing in the way he puts it. He never asked me about the current events. It lasted 1 hour long.

Now I can get this off my mind till May :)

does anyone see any sign yet? like when you send a thank you note to your interviewer, they said they would push your app?

no? are they allowed to say that?

are they NOT allowed to?

haha, I’m not too sure, did your interviewer give you good vibes?

hahah I had a dry throat on that day, so IDK how it went. but I email him and he told me that it was a pleasure to meet me, and I should hear back by May 1. That was it

Am I the only one who hasn’t heard from their interviewer(s) yet? At all?

I emailed Telluride today, but I haven’t heard back. I’m getting worried. :|

CallistaHogan, have you heard anything yet? If not, I’d recommend calling the Telluride Association offices (tomorrow, not today - it’s unlikely that anyone’s there on a Sunday) - they can probably give you a more immediate response.

Oh, and I had my interview this weekend! I honestly don’t know what to think, since I couldn’t really gauge their reactions (there was mostly just a lot of nodding and note-taking), but I think I held my own. Luckily the lawyer who emailed me was actually really cool and the other two people who were interviewing me were undergrad/grad students, so I wasn’t nearly as intimidated as I thought I’d be. It’s also worth noting that they were all dressed casually, which was pretty embarrassing for me because I was wearing heels and dress pants and went in expecting a bunch of lawyers in suits.

As far as what we talked about, my interviewers referenced my book list a few times, but it was mostly just an hour and 20 minutes or so on my essays. I should warn everyone in advance that practice interviews may or may not help…it’s not an interview as much as a dialogue and there’s no way to predict what kinds of questions they’ll ask, especially since they really make an effort to feed off of your answers. I wouldn’t worry about it too much unless you’re really uncomfortable with philosophical discourse (which I doubt is the case for most of you, since I doubt anyone trying to steer away from intellectual discussion would apply to TASP).

Yes, I did end up hearing something later that same day, thankfully, and I called them right back the day after. My interview’s all set up for Thursday. I have one interviewer (who is from my dream college, yay!!!) and she seems pretty laidback. I am so excited about it, although the nerves will probably kick in on Wednesday or something.

does tasp take into account geographic location? and if they do, where do a lot of people come from? just curious

If I apply to the Ivy Scholars program at Yale and get into both that and TASP, could I cut my TASP short a week and go do Ivy Scholars? D: Yale is my dream school ahhhhhhh!

But the more I thought about it, I would never cut TASP short, that was a more of an in the moment reaction to the Yale program haha. My question is more of, can I apply in the case I do not make TASP?

Of course it makes sense to apply to have a backup plan. And I’m pretty sure that you have to commit to the full time at TASP and the last week would be the worst time to leave.
