I want to study Romance Langugaes + Japanese and International relations, be an interpreter/translator and work in Peace Corps.

I am a CA resident…I got $7500 Merit for Temple, so the prices will be equal roughly 15000 for each…is temple better though?—it’s just that Hunter seems too cheap…how is it that they are both public yet both so different in price?

both are pretty good colleges… i would go with cuny hunter since they have a pretty good IR program, and youll be in NYC lol… im also looking at Temple, what were your stats if you dont mind me asking…

Have you visited the two colleges? They’re very different. Hunter is on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, in a very desirable neighborhood, but has no campus to speak of. They also offer little to no student housing, and rents nearby are prohibitive. Temple, on the other hand, is in a very marginal area of Philadelphia, but has a real campus and many traditional student activities (e.g. fraternities/sororities, NCAA Division I athletics, etc.). Does the $15k include housing? I really was unaware of any dormitories at Hunter. It’s always been a “commuter school,” although it is an excellent college with very strong departments and faculty.

I have a 1800 sat and 3.84/4.0 gpa…4 on ap eng comp test

I haven’t visited either of them, I live in CA

I don’t mind if the school is uninvolved…as long as it has academic clubs and opportunities…Hunter has a Spanish magazine made by students and intershipsfor translation/interpretation, Temple has many programs and language clubs…it is difficult to find info on temple

I just need fitness facilities and an urban environment where I can intern…which school has a better study abroad program?

I’m actually considering CUNY Hunter. I still have to send in my ACT scores though. Keep forgetting. Ahh… Gotta do that tomorrow.

have you visited? Did you like it?

If you went to CUNY, where would you live? How and when would you locate an apartment? Housing is not guaranteed at all except for the MacCauly honors students I think. In fact most of the CUNY campuses don’t have any dorms. I think Hunter does have a dorm but it can only house a ridiculously small amount of people when compared to the student population.

Oh and Temple has a campus in Tokyo and all financial aid and scholarships transfer. The cost for a semester abroad is the same as a semester on Main Campus.

is the cost different at hunter when abroad?
