Hello! I recently submitted my applications to all of my schools, and would like some constructive criticism or opinions on my chances of being accepted at these schools.
- 3.4 GPA (unweighted)
- 4.0 GPA (weighted)
- 1050 SAT score (520 reading, 530 math)
- Economics major (with the highest grade possible in that class)
Temple University is my first choice school, but I know it is kind of a reach. I applied through the Temple Option to Fox School of Business and on the Temple website it states that students that have a 3.5 GPA or higher will typically use the Temple Option, but my GPA is below average for that. I have a lot of dual-enrollment courses through University of Maine at Augusta and took several courses during my junior year that earned me a total of 15 college credits upon completion. I feel like I did well on my essay questions, even though they were only 150 words max and it felt like I was cramming to get words in at some points. Overall, I feel as if my chances are 50/50 but remain hopeful that I will be accepted!
Hofstra University is tied for my second pick, but will really depend on how much aid they offer me due to their ridiculous prices for tuition/housing. I chose not to send my test scores to Hofstra, as they are test score optional! I feel like my college essay and small essay on the application will be in my favor as well.
Pace University is probably my third as it is in NYC and I have seen mixed reviews of the school. I applied because of their fair reputation and would like to know if my chances are high or low of being accepted? According to prepscholar (I know not to ALWAYS trust these websites) I have a >90% of being admitted and according to Cappex I have a very fair chance also. What do you think?
I know this is out of order, but Suffolk is also tied for second as it is my safe school. They have a generally high acceptance rate and I do love the school and the area, however their tuition and housing is very expensive and I will be looking for as much aid as possible! I’m pretty certain I will get in, but what do you think?
Thank you in advance!
