i’m frustrated because the school i want to go to hasn’t called me but other coaches have called me from other schools. is anyone else having this issue? or is that coach and school just not that interested in me? i read the ten schools agreement thing but how come some call anyway?

I violated it…oops

anyways, maybe your letter’s just not here yet? do the schools you apllied to normally call people accepted?

you violated it? what?

what i mean is that i was accepted to a few schools and some coaches have called from other schools but not the one that i want to go to. i just don’t know if they haven’t called because they don’t really want me or because they are playing by the rules and the other coaches and admission offices aren’t. so i’m wondering if other people have had schools calling them even though i don’t think they are supposed to and if all the schools break this rules or just some.

Do you have questions for the coaches?

I am copying part of a post I made on the St. Paul’s thread below. A student/applicant cannot violate the 10 schools agreement but a coach/school can. They cannot contact you but you can - and should - reach out to them. As long as you initiate the contact, it is fine. Here’s a link to the Ten schools showing who is a member if anyone is wondering:

Having been through the process, one of the things I greatly admired SPS for at the time was that they did NOT pressure or make a huge sales pitch to my 13 year old child. The acceptance letter from Ms. Hebra clearly states that SPS selected you and would definitely like you to attend. I think it is wrong for a school to pressure you, sell you, etc. at the age of 13, 14, 15, etc. like some kind of used car salesperson. A school that shows you what they are all about at revisits, answers your questions openly and honestly, and lets you find the right fit for you, will be a school that will care about you as a student and developing young adult for the next 2, 3 or 4 years. I would be wary of any school that does not operate with integrity.

That being said, you are welcome to reach out to coaches, dept. heads, etc. via phone or email, and they are able and happy to talk to you and answer questions as long as you initiate the contact. If you have questions about a particular sport, music program or whatever interests you, I encourage you to reach out to each school you are considering.
