TEnnis elbow...what should I do?

Ok, I have tennis elbow, and it hurts alot, but I dont know what to do…I use Bengay to heal w/ the pain and I ice it, but the pain keeps coming back everyday during practice and my games…

for all you tennis pros, what should I do???

string your racket at a lower tension. take advil before every match/practice. ice your elbow for 20 minutes, 4 times a day. go see a sports doctor if it continues. Surgery may be required.

Stop playing and rest it for a while. RICE: rest, ice, compress, elevate. Do you play with a head-heavy racket?

Never use advil before practices, only use it for matches that count a lot. If you take advil, you don’t know what your body’s limit is…you don’t know what your body is trying to tell you

well, i really cant stop playing because i play for the school team, and you have to go to practice to play in the games, and we have games like 3-4 times a week…but i will ice it more and use aspirin before games…

I use a head i.s12 racket, which is one of the lightest rackets available, but it is a little head heavy, but not that much…

since i just broke my strings…lol…yesterday, I will have them strung at the lowest pounds that my racket recommends…usually, i do it in the middle of the numbers…

also, does it matter what gauge of string i get? whether its 15,16 or 17?

string gauges just have different feels for them-in general thinner the more feel. however, string material does matter, go for a multifilament if your tennis elbow is bothering you a lot, as multifilament is softer.

Your light racket may be one cause of tennis elbow because it won’t absorb the shock as well and may twist and cause more vibrations.

Right, you want a slightly heavy racket that will do some of the work for you. With a light racket, you have to swing harder.

so maybe I will add lead tape to my racket…another question, what can I use on my handle to make my racket heavier?
