<p>It may be difficult with those scores… you may want to consider retaking the exam. But you should definitely play up the IEO rank, I think Columbia is really into those types of accomplishments and unusual coupling of accomplishments. For instance, I just got into the Class of 2012 and I think my biggest hook was my fusion of interests for engineering and musical theatre. Make yourself as unique as possible on paper, and the rest will fall in place.</p>

<p>what i’ve heard is that they cut off most kids under a 1300/1600 on the SAT or so unless they have something amazing to offer (like let’s say you made olympic trials or something or won intel)…boost your scores and gpa and extracurriculars</p>
