Test Required List: Does anyone have a source or a comprehensive list?

If we isolate the question for the top 100 national universities and top 100 liberal arts colleges, do we know where each institution stands for the HS class of 2026?

There is no list that is going to be accurate and up-to-date. The applicant is best served verifying the requirements of the colleges on their list rather than relying on anonymous internet sources

There are also cases where SAT or ACT may be preferred or recommended, or where it may be advantageous for scholarship consideration.

Because some colleges switched back to SAT or ACT required with relatively short notice (although some others gave more notice, announcing in mid-2024 that they would switch back to required for those applying to enter in fall 2026), possibly disadvantaging potential applicants who could not find open seats at accessible testing locations for the few remaining test dates, a current high school junior who is planning to apply to colleges that were SAT or ACT required before COVID-19 but are currently optional may want to plan their testing as if one or more of them may switch back to required on short notice.

Some of them didn’t decide rules for class of 2025 until spring 2024…you won’t be able to really plan on anything for certain for a long time IMO.

Once the Common A pp opens for your student, they would be able to select test option as a filter in the college search bar.

The Common App has been open since Aug 1.

She notes hs class of 2026 (which would not be open yet for them.)

Sorry, missed that.

Doesn’t Fairtest have an up to date comprehensive list of test optional and test blind colleges? I assume that if a colleges isn’t on that list, that means that it’s a test required college.

I have seen in the past where Fairtest’s lists was inaccurate, or listed a college as test optional but did not mention that it was test optional only under certain conditions (e.g. if HS GPA was high enough), so any listing there should be verified at the college’s web site.
