Testing Accommodations Accident

I receive testing accommodations through my university’s disability office and just took an exam there for the first time ever this past Monday.

When I registered for accommodations, I was told I was eligible for 50% more time on exams and it said so on my letter of accommodations. I had to take it to the testing center where they kept that on file.

My exam I took on Monday was for a 50 minute class, but when I went in, I received 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes). Does that sound right? I would’ve thought 50% more time meant something like 1 hour and 15 minutes, or 75 minutes.

Maybe the exam proctor messed up because he was helping another boy at the same time as me and HE got an hour and 15 minutes whereas I got an hour and forty minutes. But maybe I don’t understand what 50% more time really means.

I feel bad that I may have taken extra time from someone else…

How long was the test supposed to be? If the test was supposed to be 50 min, then you should have 75 min to take the test.
