Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

Thank you, he definitely checks the portal very regularly!!

Any engineering acceptances to CSTAT? Applied August, non-auto. I wouldn’t prefer TEAB or BLINN so I’m wondering if Engineeiring at CSTAT is still open in spots/not full

Same here. We’re still waiting on a response for our Animal Science hopeful as well. Haven’t seen much mentioned about that major so I’m unsure how many are accepted into that major. We’ve pretty much decided to start focusing on her 2nd choice since its getting so late for housing and finding a roommate. As a first timer, this process has been very eye opening, but incredibly frustrating.

The last reported full admit to CSTAT in Engg was 2-3 days ago on Reddit r/TAMUAdmissions. Nothing reported on this thread though. No TEAB / Galveston / McAllen offers have also been reported here.

I agree, it’s tough to wait as someone who likes to plan well in advance. I’m just the parent though, my daughter would jump on a TEAM offer immediately and she doesn’t care about the housing or other complications I am considering. Per an A&M website there are only 1,300 total Animal Science Undergrads so 400 or less admitted per year maybe? We did list Biology as a second option but it’s still unclear to me if Admissions will auto consider that, or even auto consider any other Agriculture and Life Sciences major, if you don’t squeeze into your preferred but look like a good student.

I just wanted to let you and @TamFam know that my 2026 Aggie applied to Animal Science and was offered a Gateway admission on February 11. It’s not too late for an offer. We are hoping for a Gateway offer for our current senior. He applied to Public Health. Based on previous years I think Gateway will come out next week. Hopefully!

Thanks, appreciate any ray of hope. It does seem that admissions are running a bit ahead of schedule compared to past years, but that is just MY interpretation of replies in this forum coming in over the past few weeks. Not fact (hopefully).

@HowBoutDemBoyz what are the highest math and sciences you’ve taken?
What was your 2nd major choice?

You need to be very familiar with the Engineering pathways that could be offered-
TEAB, Galveston, McAllen or PSA.

TEAB is considered full admission-students can live on campus, have a sports pass and pledge fraternity/sororities. TEAB is a fantastic offer, cheaper, too.

Does anyone know what A&M is looking for to be selected for Gateway vs BlinnTeam? Just wondering if the acceptances are chosen by major, or if it is for well qualified students that there is simply not enough room for, or if first gen students are typically chosen or ?

Has anyone been accepted recently to Ag Econ
Waiting to hear for my son…

Is there a day of the week people get admitted or is it random

It’ll show up early in the morning, around 7:00 a.m.ish. The portal will change & show ‘7 tabs’ (scroll thru comments on this thread for a visual); when 7 tabs appear, that means an offer is coming.

Mine showed up in portal on a Thursday afternoon 3:00ish. 7 tabs appeared in Howdy at least a day before

I think @Christi1993 and/or @FriscoDad can shed a little light.

I do know those that enter thru Gateway start out in General Studies, so it wouldn’t be by major.

So team goes to students that are pretty qualified but fall shy of the competition.

Gateway is designed for those that meet the requirements/standards but may have some circumstances that makes them more geared towards gateway. This program is amazing. They learn how to study, time mgmt etc. they get the lay of the land early. I would say 90 plus % of gateway students succeed to full time fall students. I’m sure there’s a stat that @FriscoDad could find (no pressure). :face_with_peeking_eye:

I’ve known first gen gateway and those
That have parents with doctorates. So it literally could be a plethora of things that qualify them for this program.

Ha! You sound exactly like me…major planner and I’m stressed about housing. Daughter just wants to be an Aggie. She put Zoology as a 2nd option, but we’re thinking she should have put Rangeland, Fisheries and Wildlife Mgmt instead since I’m hearing that might be easier to get into.

Here is the scoop I have from my son’s friend who just received Blinn TEAM on Wednesday for Econ. He was ranked top 19% and did not submit his SAT or ACT scores. He did, however, submit his application on the first hour of the first day in August. My son waited until August 15th, so maybe there is something to be said about turning it in early.

FWIW, there was a TEAB admit reported on Reddit today. We should start to see these reported on this thread as well.

Our daughter would be fine with Gateway or Blinn option, but prefers the Blinn option. The Gateway option really messes up our summer plans. Some of those plans we can’t change so she’d have to miss out on and I know she isn’t thrilled about that. I honestly didn’t think the Gateway path was a real possible option or we would have planned our summer a little better. I had heard so few kids get offered Gateway, but seems that might not be the case??? Trying not to think of too many “what-if” scenarios and just be patient…not my strength!!

Gateway is just over one month in the summer, Blinn Team is up to two years (but typically at least one year). Gateway is definitely the better option.
