They’ve done some form of gateway since I was at A&M in the early 90s. A bunch of ny best college friends went in the summer for gateway and loved it. It’s like a head start in a race or when your grandma gives you a secret taste of the dessert she made before evyerone else comes in the room. If my kid had gotten that I would have changed our summer plans. Congrats!

@Famfam123 congrats! Gateway is only the 2nd summer session, very short. She’ll live on campus-a specific dorm-nothing but great things to say about Gateway, from friends who have done it.

@co2028applicant what is your admissions decision?
My daughter received 3 options sometime overnight. Last time she checked was 5 pm and there was no change at that point. She is Public Health. We chose Team only. She is 3.97 UW…straight A’s across board with A’s in 8 DC/AP’s at competitive high school. She is ranked 13%. We were really hoping for Gateway but we are so thankful for Team as she did have lower SAT and her EC’s were good but probably not as many as most. Just want to post this to help others as I have greatly appreciated all the information posted.

So after reading all the posts from December it looks like if we are offered the options and we select Blinn Team only, then historically, they receive it?
Side note - this was not the year for test optional and strong GPA in Texas…

They move in on the 2nd, of July, Start the 3rd and then have a holiday. Weird.
When does the letter come in the mail? Or do they not get one, since it’s provisional admittance?
Still shows under review though.

You will get the letter and banner in the mail in a few weeks! A letter will go in AIS in a few days. I don’t know when your AIS will fully update since it’s a Saturday so let us know if it updates today or Monday!

We got the 3 options as well. Per the years of advice, took TEAM only. This is the part where I’m waiting for the veterans to say “it’s not guaranteed but we’ve never seen a TEAM only choice not get admission…” you know, just to make me feel better

Do you know the acceptance rate vs the admissions rate for the last few years?
What about weekends? Are they on their own with gateway?
It’s Harvest for us and doesn’t want to miss it.

Congrats to all who got notification! My son still under review for Mays 
haha! He has great stats 1st quarter, various orgs., 5 DC, several AP, essay strong(only say this because he had help from his writing teacher mom), but TO. This is getting silly at this point .

Thanks for the information. We will talk to the Landscape Dept on Monday to verify. She also got the 3 options this morning. I was hoping that since she could take some classes at TAMU that she could take the studio classes. If she can’t we may need to select the waitlist only option which I know doesn’t always turn out well.
Never have i seen a team only not get it!

If you want Blinn team, then select Blinn Team only and you should get some good news in next couple of weeks.
I followed this advice last year and it worked just as they said….my son received Blinn Team a few weeks later.
