Hey there, from prior years the options come out same day. I don’t believe there will be any more full admits coming aside from those that received the options. Based on stats, I believe your son will get PSA… I would have thought he would be a good candidate for gateway or team though, but it’s just limited space.
All As on DC
Is it advisable to change his major to something other than Business, or at this point does it not really matter? He is interested in Hospitality Mgmt under the college of Ag. When we spoke to an Ag advisor last year she said very few select it as a major at first. She said most students transfer to it. Any advantage to changing to it?
So I went back and trudged through 2027 cycle. Here’s what I found… it looks like we are a week ahead of schedule. So answers may be coming sooner than later if it holds true.
January 31st the 3 options came out along with the Engineering options. Gateway followed.
Engineering options heard back before the TEAM students did, but noone that chose team only, didn’t report not getting it. So yay.
PSA started rolling out 2nd week of Feb.
Mid march, those that chose Team/Waitlist heard back… The ones that got full admit, went in under Opportunity major. A lot got TEAM and I don’t recall in my perusing, anyone that got PSA… but I do know in years past, that this has happened.
So there ya have it. By my calculations, if you haven’t received any communication, you most likely will get PSA. I pray I’m wrong though. If you have had the options, if you choose both, sit tight and you’ll hear in about a month.
No advantage at all to change majors. You’re admitted to TAMU, not the major. IF they feel like he’s qualified, maybe he’ll get the opportunity major option! Last year was the first time this was offered. I cannot recall if students received this option if they weren’t first given the TEAM/Waitlist option though.
My daughter hasn’t received any decision or update, other than her portal changing her to Summer application yesterday with her major changing from biology to General studies and there are 7 tabs in that AIS portal. But still says application in review. Would that mean a Gateway offer is still possible/pending?
So are you saying right now that if an Engineering student hasn’t received any options up to this point, they are PSA? … we were hopeful about what FriscoDad said about decisions still going out for Engineering but perhaps we should prepare ourselves.
I think many will at least get PSA, but in my class of 2026, we did have a few that posted they’d been outright rejected with no pathway offered. Now, there is always PTA which anyone can do at any community college in Texas. I know of some students who did PTA at Blinn and lived in Cstat.
If you chose Blinn Team only is there any chance at full admit? I applied construction science and I don’t think that is full and haven’t even seen many admits online.
Former PSA student here! I totally loved my PSA experience in Corpus Christi — and the island is beautiful! The transition to TAMU was pretty easy. Now, I was crushed to get PSA, but am happy with how it all turned out. I had a great freshman year on the island (I literally studied on a beach!), smaller class sizes and met my bestie there, who also was PSA. I’m now an Aggie and doing great! If anyone has any questions about the PSA experience, ask away!
My son received three options today. If he chooses Waitlist and TEAM, what are the chances he does not get into either of them? We are worried if we wait, TEAM will fill up. Anyone wait until March and not get in?
