I’m still waiting for a decision. I’m not expecting much anymore.
I just received a text from Texas A&M that says
Howdy Hunter!
Texas A&M has an important message for you. Check your status now in AIS at applicant.tamu.edu
Thx & Gig’Em
Naturally it is just spinning when I check. Anyone know what this could mean?
@Aggies1997 you’re the parent, correct?
Make sure it’s just your son checking AIS & Howdy, not 2 different devices. They reiterate at NSC that Howdy will be locked, if it detects more than one device trying to log in.
Interested to hear what the message is! Don’t recall seeing anyone get a text message.
No clue, but my son also got the 3 options on Saturday. We did choose Team Only. He’s in class right now so no clue if he got this text (and I’m not going to alarm him in case he didn’t). I am trying to login right now to AIS and getting the same “spinning” problem, no update in Howdy.
I’m rooting for you!
@52AG82 @SGTGold
He did get the three options on Sunday, so I am just assuming it is to remind him that he needs to choose one of them. We are leaning towards Blinn Team, so we don’t have to wait. We both tried login on, it may just be too many people trying to get on.
I’ll post if anything but the three options has changed.
So, should I just wait for my decision before making any housing deposits? Will they all be filled up by that time?
And, I have not heard back from A&M yet, so does that mean a rejection is coming?
There is ALWAYS plenty of off campus housing.
PLENTY
Are you taking PreCal this year, or Calculus?
@ALL will we know when Blinn Team option is full or is there somewhere to see current accepted #s?
I’m taking pre calculus this year.
I moved to texas middle of 8th grade, and thus couldn’t take algebra (in which case I would’ve taken Calculus this year).
And, are admissions still rolling out? I haven’t heard back yet, so I’m getting worried about a rejection. Do I have a good chance?
I have a 3.5 GPA, 7 total APs and 5 honors classes throughout high school (all 5s on the 4 tests I have taken so far), 1430 SAT (760 english and 670 math), 30 ACT (24 math, 27 science, 36 english, 33 reading), good ECs (inlcuding member of school football team, orchestra, Boy Scouts almost Eagle scout, DECA state qualifier)
My major is computer science (general engineering)
I was assigned first quarter in AIS
@FriscoDad is the Engineering expert.
But if you’re just now in PreCal, that could very easily keep you out of A&M Engineering, certainly full admit. The rigor isn’t there.
What was your 2nd choice major?
Hopefully you’ll receive a pathway
Being in pre-cal now as opposed to calculus will make it tough to gain admission, but not impossible. The low math score on the ACT is also somewhat concerning. I know a couple of students that only had pre-cal and both got offers last year - one was TEAB and one was Galveston. They also had high ACT/SAT scores, but their strength was in math as opposed to reading.
And definitely do not put down any housing deposits until after you have a decision from A&M. You will not be able to get out of that lease and will be stuck trying to get someone to sublease. And that is not always easy.
It was just the three options when I finally got in. We decided to do TEAM as well today. Hoping to hear back soon, so we can plan for housing.
Did you get the “email” she’s talking about where you know it’s official? Sorry I remember reading your stuff on Saturday, but don’t recall.
Can you imagine getting pulled back due to a glitch? Jesus…
No just howdy change like everyone says it changes to
I bet it’s wrong cause we got the stupid double email about AIS
Omg
Crushed is understatement
I can’t even
I’d jump on the phone and call admissions and check your kiddo’s status. I wouldn’t even wait with that “rumor” going around.
That lady had same thing happen. There were a bunch this weekend
@Famfam123 do you have an area admissions rep?
If so, I’d contact them. I’d also contact Admissions, insist on speaking to an adult, not a student.
Most likely you’ll get a slightly didn’t answer-that’s pretty common .
Hopefully the poster misunderstood what she heard…
