When in Howdy/Manage Application, we now have a new message that we should “log in to AIS to view decision”. However, when we log in to AIS, there is no decision? Is this a glitch?
Glad the vets on here were right about gateway lol. I swear every year there’s a rumor and it gets people unnecessarily worried. Then admissions comes back with the standard “there’s no decision til you see a decision. Tabs mean nothing, summer means nothing”.
My son was provided an option today to pick options between Blinn, Galveston and McAllen for engineering. He selected Blinn as an option. Do all students who attend Blinn at First year are admitted to the main campus?
Do you mean are all students who do engineering at Blinn admitted full time to TAMU CSTAT the next year? If so, then no, they have to meet certain criteria to apply for ETAM. First, your son has to score high enough on the math placement exam to start in Calc 1. If he does that, he will have to achieve at least a 2.5 GPA both at Blinn and at TAMU and then he can apply for ETAM. If he successfully completes ETAM and gets a choice for a major that is offered at College Station, then he will be enrolled full time in College Station the following semester.
Was that updated this afternoon or did you just check it this afternoon? I’m just trying to see if they’re updating it more than once a day.
It must have been updated in the last couple of hours, no earlier than afternoon/early evening EST.
Ok thanks. That means if he completes the Blinn program he will be admitted to Texas A&M main campus and there is no capacity constraints?
If he completes all the requirements satisfactorily and selects a major that is only offered at CSTAT, then yes, he will be full time at CSTAT. There are capacity restraints for certain majors and certain majors (comp sci) are offered at both CSTAT and Galveston, so he could get either location for that. There are certain engineering majors that are offered only at Galveston, but most of them are offered at CSTAT and most students will go to CSTAT after completing the Blinn TEAB program.
My BIMS applicant received Blinn Team options this past Saturday.
Read this 2022 thing from Blinn Team information session or something.
It is a lot of details about life as a Blinn, advice etc. Help for any kid to read really.
It goes beyond the website itself.
I suppose there is one for Gateway but can’t find it yet.
It eased our minds
For all the recent Blinn TEAM people, here’s a great FB page for TEAM parents (not students).
*TEAM, not TEAB
do the people who are getting Blinn/Gateway/waitlist at this time have anything to do with their major being full? is that why some majors are receiving blinn options now while some majors haven’t heard back? or is there another reason?
Nothing to do with major.
I can honestly say that admissions wants every student to succeed and gives the decision that they feel will set the student up for success. While we as parents may not get it or feel our student is better qualified than another student, the people in admissions have a process and method to what we on the outside call chaos
So hang in there, everyone. Trust the process. Educate yourself on the options… all of them including straight transfer.
If you don’t get what you’re wanting, and would like help on the transfer side of things, I’m happy to help steer you in the right direction.
No, it is just a delay in AIS update.
Past few years data posted earlier (below), success rate is 90%. Ironically, higher than full-admit engineering students. Even better now is your student can focus the rest of 12th grade to prepare for ETAM.
Does this typically mean PSA or rejection? I haven’t seen anyone with this message and we are all a ball of nerves here…
PSA rarely releases this early.
We were excited to see his AIS update and verify he was accepted with the Gateway program! We immediately signed him up for his NSC. However, we were unable to find/pay the housing fee. The link was not working for us. Anyone else have that problem? Also @Christi1993 do Gateway students live on campus for summer session? This is my 3rd child to go but all were accepted in different circumstances: automatic, transfer, Gateway! I plan to go read about the program now!
Is anyone hearing about outright rejection letters going out already? My daughter’s app is still in review with no changes so she was getting anxious about not hearing anything this last week as Blinn team, gateway, and the choices are being sent out. She is on an Aggies 2028 thread with prospective students and friends from her high school are saying they are getting rejection letters? She said she’s happy not to have heard anything if it means an outright hard no. She and I were surprised some aren’t even getting PSA at the minimum anymore? Is that a change with TAMU this year with so many applicants?
@ALL what does it mean on Howdy if the withdraw button is gone and it states to login to AIS to view Decision. Logged into AIS and it’s still in review.
