Thank you for the advice! She is still waiting to hear about business honors, that would definitely sway her decision .
Now if my other daughter would just get a decision…she is getting discouraged. I’m thinking it’s a no since she is still in review for Public Health. But keeping my fingers crossed! She has Tech as a back up…she wants to be a nurse.
@DSL1 no brainer, if she’s direct admit to Nursing, I’d go the Tech route for Nursing. Fantastic nursing school! A&M Nursing is a crapshoot, and INCREDIBLY hard to get into. Tech has the med school & much larger hospital system.
Can’t tell you HOW many friends we know-4.0 gpa, near perfect HESi score, apply 2-3x and never get into A&M Nursing. It’s a VERY small program. Most graduate from A&M, then go somewhere else for an accelerated RN program.
If she hasn’t heard from BH yet, probably isn’t going to happen…but maybe she’ll get one of the last spots🤞🏼
Unfortunately Tech is not direct admit nursing. She would be pre-nursing for 2 years( or maybe less with her dual credits) and then apply. Tech nursing school has many locations other than Lubbock
( Odessa, Abilene, ect). So she is afraid she would hVe to leave Lubbock after 2 years.
We were on a Zoom call with A&M nursing last year and they did say how competitive it is.
I still say she has a better shot at getting into Tech Nursing vs A&M Nursing. We have family in West Texas, and I forgot the Nursing program is also in Odessa. Again, bigger hospital than College Station.
At least it’s a Pre-Nursing program at Tech, A&M has Allied Health, Public Health, Kinesiology and others…all applying for a handful of spots.
A&M Nursing has a location in Round Rock, not just CS.
I’m seeing a large amount of TEAB accepts today on Reddit who received their 3 options on Monday or Tuesday this week. Hoping this means that those of us that received 3 options for TEAM around same time will hear something soon. Fingers and Toes crossed for all!
I wasn’t creating a race war. In one post the discussion was about a competitive 6A school. Then people were discussing Top 10% as a state law. It doesn’t matter if your skin color is purple (although I realize aff. act Is about color). I’ve at least heard of the schools you referenced… try New Summerfield, Arp, Troup, Jacksonville …I’m not the first person I’ve read to make the connection, just the only one here. Tattling on my post was silly. Good luck to all. The funding from the state for my gasp FOSTER CHILD can go elsewhere.
I applied to Bio in early November, and I was just wondering if I could get full admission at this point ? If I get an offer, what would my options be ? Thank you
Hi, new to this thread and just now reading through all of the information. Of course, it seems like I’m a day late and a dollar short in asking this question as my daughter accepted both options for TEAM and Waitlist last weekend. So now I’m panicking based on the recommendations here. Question… can you explain the stats or reason why picking TEAM only is a guaranteed option? When I called to ask admissions to explain these options to help us decide I was told that choosing both puts your name on both lists, (which seems like better odds to me) choosing one puts your name on one list, and they use this email to guage interest. Am I being fed the corporate line?? Also, do you know if there is anyway to change your choice despite being told that it cannot be changed?
I wouldn’t say it’s the company line, but yeah. I would say choose team only if your daughter is good with team. If want it to play out, then both is good too. Last year some that chose both, waited til March and some got team. Some opportunity major (new option last year) and some even got PSA.
Those that chose team only, all received team (based on this site) in about a week or two.
As for switching, yes. Your student can call and ask to change her option to team only.
Had my morning coffee… then checked! ~ no 7 tabs yet either. I told my son it would be 2 weeks until the TEAM went through, but of course we’d love sooner! HAng in there
Top 25%, SAT 1270, 3.9UW, 4.7 weighted, 12 hrs. DC and 1 AP. Competitive high school in DFW area. Cheer captain, NCL with leadership positions, honor societies, work history, lots of volunteer hours. 1st choice major Pub Health, 2nd choice sociology. Thoughts??
My 2026 daughter got the same options and we chose both, she was admitted in March to her 2nd choice major. But ignorance was bliss in 2022 as I thought she had no chance of getting into A&M so didn’t read anything about all of this and didn’t even know a parent page or college confidential existed. LOL.
With those stats, I feel she’ll get TEAM over full admit. Pub health is coveted major but sociology isn’t… so honestly if there’s still room in Soc, then she could get full admit. It’s the wait that stinks with possibility of missing out on TEAM because it’s full.
Maybe go back to ignorance… I love Bliss! Best of luck and keep us posted! Hoping she gets Full.
