Anyone know if construction science is competitive? I havent seen a lot of admits so think I may have messed up full admit chance by selecting Blinn only. At aggieland saturday last year they said they were trying to brown program.
Does selecting the TEAM only option mean you will not be considered at all for full admission?
I appreciate all of your thoughts here. So when you say possibly missing out on TEAM, are you saying that they will look at the stack of TEAM only applicants and fill all of the spots, then go to the pile that chose both and if not able to grant full admission to either major choice only then will be considered for TEAM? I guess I assumed that by being in both piles you would be in both piles at the same time. Very interested in your thoughts on this. I’m leaning towards possibly changing our choice, just want to make sure I’m understanding how it all works. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
Correct. Team only is truly team only
All those that chose team only, should hear back this coming week that they are on blinn team. Those that choose both will be sorted through again. Blinn team will become full at some point so yes, a student can miss out on it.
There will be those that get full admit and if their major is full, they will ask them to pick another one that’s still open.
Has anyone heard if BIMS is full? Or Biology?
Thanks so much for all of the information provided on this forum. Like others, I just found this forum after my son got the 3 choices this past weekend. He was very excited to select the TEAM-only option but I called and spoke to an Admissions Counsler on Monday and they too told me that he has more opportunities to get in if he selected both TEAM and Waitlist. We then selected the TEAM/Waitlist option on Monday and then after reading through all the information on this site and my son being fine with TEAM, we decided to see if he could change his selection to TEAM only. I called again and they advised me the only way to change your choice is through AIS (they won’t accept any changes over the phone).
In AIS, you go to Contact Us and select Admissions Decision as the subject. We requested the change and got a response back about 2 days later stating:
“We will do our best to accommodate your request. Please note, AIS was not built to allow for such changes. Any updates to your file will be reflected in our internal system only. It will not be displayed in AIS.”
So, you don’t see it reflected in AIS but hoping he is in the queue for TEAM only and will get a decision soon. Hope that helps. Thanks again for all the information and best of luck. It all does work out, whatever the decisions are for our students.
I’m also still waiting on biology too =((
Great. Thank you for the update and info on changing option decision.
I hope everyone who chose team only, hears back next week. That would follow the pattern from prior years.
Next week as in this coming week or the week after?
From my reading, 2 years ago it took about 8 days. Last year it was 15.
This coming week.
My son got the three options last Saturday, picked Team/Waitlist pretty quick. He changed his mind pretty quick and emailed, called, and IM through AIS but was unable to change his option to TEAM only.
My son applied CoSci in August. Got the three options last Saturday and still waiting. He selected Team/Waitlist. I’ve heard from others it’s a small (ie, competitive) school.
My son got the same options last Saturday for CoSci and selected both. Reached out after to change to Team only but got the same response you got (verbatim) through AIS. They told him over the phone they wouldn’t be able to change it. We’ll see.
Picked Blinn Team only on 3 options on Monday. Checked before noon and now, no seven tabs.
@Aggies1997 do you still have Change Major and Withdraw buttons?
Wait what? You had 7 tabs and now you don’t? Or you’re still waiting after selecting team only? 7 tabs happenthe early morning.
My daughter selected TEAM only, and like everyone, we are waiting to hear back from TAMU. In addition to worrying about acceptance, we are worrying about housing. She desperately wants to live on campus. I read on other site they are already offering ‘temporary’ housing!?’ What is that? And will she have a shot at getting a room at Whitecreek Appts at this point?
White creek shouldn’t be a problem at this stage. If they’re already on temp housing, I’d be shocked. That’s really early and not many offers have gone out yet (in 2024)
