Obviously you’re former psa and we appreciate your intel but you aren’t accepting/agreeing to psa to see schools that are offered. There’s no negative to clicking Continue or whatever button they’re using these days. That’s all I’m saying. It’s more like you’re accepting that it’s your offer. Not accepting the offer.
OK, so how else are you going to see the schools if you don’t accept the PSA offer? Obviously you can’t be made to do PSA. If you have insight on seeing the system schools without hitting that accept button, please do share. Pic is of the options.
You’re accepting that it’s your offer. Not accepting that you’re going to accept it.
Girl, we’re on the same team.
Lol. Semantics, as my mom would say.
My goal on this thread is to educate parents and students with the least amount of added anxiety.
So those that have not already reached out to me on options/questions about psa, feel free to message me. Happy to go over all the options out there to get you to Aggieland!
@FriscoDad I am not a Texan. This A&M thing is hard for me to understand! Help! She got PSA today. She is aiming for Chem Engineering. One of our friends told her to bypass the PSA and apply to TAMUG instead.
Is that crazy?! I don’t understand anything and this is my oldest kid and first time attending college kid!
Help us!
Is your student graduating from Texas high school? In-state or out of state?
If In-state. And if TAMU engineering is the goal, then TAMUG or engineering academies are the right paths. Your student needs to be open-minded about what engineering major she will be getting. It all depends on her first year (TAMUG) / two years (Academies) GPA. With 3.75 she can pick any major, between 3.2 to 3.75 holistic review.
If out-of-state, may want to consider other back up colleges options, if one admits your student directly.
TAMUG
Engineering Academies
Ugh… another day of waiting. I’d like to speak to the manager!!!
I’d like to think, up or down (pray to God up), I have less than 10 days of memes left…
That’s what ours did!
A couple of notes…
AIS won’t update, but I did notice when I went to AIS and “My Communications” and then “My Letters” we had the Freshman Admit letter.
Also, if you click on things like grades, it will have a bunch of Spring things (that aren’t applicable) but also Fall 2024 Galveston.
I’d use those for your confirmations…but I think you already know. CONGRATS!
I for one will miss your hilarious and on point memes.
Yay! Did he decide to go with marine biology or Oceans and One Health?
He chose Oceans and One Health
How exciting!!! It’s a small program (last year admitted 31 freshman to OOH). We’re still weighing our options, but our kiddos might get to know each other quite well!
Did you get the 7 tabs for Blinn Team only on 3 options today?
No, sorry for not being clear. It was for my kid’s A&M Galveston application (we’ve had them for about 2 weeks now)…
My son also got 7 tabs this morning and his major has updated to General Engineering. It is for his engineering application to Galveston. While we are thrilled to have this opportunity, it is amazing to me how much more competitive the application pool has gotten in the last two years. I have a Class of '26 sophomore engineering student who did not have as good of stats as my current high school senior has. My sophomore received TAMU admission and he did not have to apply separately to Galveston. My high school senior and one of his good friends with ACT/SAT scores of 31 and 1410 and all the rigorous AP Calc and Physics classes, both got PSA from their main campus applications on Monday. A few years ago, they both would have been auto admits to A&M with those scores. What a difference a few years makes!
But we are thrilled to see the 7 tabs and he is looking forward to completing his first year engineering courses at Galveston and then going through ETAM, which should be the same process as my current sophomore went through this past summer.
I apologize for posting on the wrong page. Best of luck to all!
